Does the Bible support the idea of a spinning ball earth flying through space, or is that a Satanic, Masonic lie?

If no one can offer any biblical proof/support for the Ball Earth model - then, I think the thread topic has most definitely served its purpose very well!

I am not suggesting a mandate for the Bible to contain any such proof/support; however, since all-or-most will agree that the 'picture' that the Bible "paints" leans very heavily in the Flat Earth model direction, it stands to reason that it is the 'default'/'normal' place to start from. Hence, the thread topic intent is to show that - unless actual biblical support for the Ball Earth model can be shown - it is then-and-thereby resolved-by-default that there is none.
Genesis 1 says that the earth began as water only, and water suspended in space always takes the form of a sphere due to the surface tensions of water molecules.

2 Now the earth was astonishingly empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep, and the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the water.

6 And God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the water, and let it be a separation between water and water."

7 And God made the expanse and it separated between the water that was below the expanse and the water that was above the expanse, and it was so.

why respond to me with something not related to the earth being all water when the Spirit of God hovers over it? And then separates water from water? There is NO land at this point, so your STUPID MEMES don't even relate. get over it!

Now, this is something that is more aligned with the thread topic! (y)

But, why did it take well over 1000 posts for it to show up???

I did not say that to target you TW - I just want to make a point to everyone about the way we (collectively) seem to like to discuss anything-in-the-world except what the thread topic intends - "trashing" every thread instead of having a [hopefully] fruitful discussion that follows the intent of the thread topic. And, I know what it is like to get caught up in the 'current' discussion - forgetting about the thread topic specifically - and chasing that rabbit - I am guilty, too. However, I really do believe in the Golden Rule and try to respect the OP of any-and-every thread and their intent for the thread. And, that is all I can really ask of anyone else.

I do not totally agree with your statement in the quote above; however, I am happy to see you make it for the sake of actual discussion of the thread topic.

Okay. Now:

~ What exactly is the 'expanse'?
~ What exactly is the water below it?
~ What exactly is the water above it?

@RaceRunner - I can't help but agree with this (*) - your approach has its uses, but is not always the best approach to take in any situation.

Would you please limit your posts to actual discussion of scripture?

(at least when/while there is scripture-based discussion being conducted according to the thread topic)

* - I do not think the memes are stupid.

If you have a meme that specifically applies to any current discussion being conducted - by-all-means - post it. But - you will only "screw up a good thing" if you try to 'bludgen' repeatedly with memes you have already posted multiple times any current discussion being conducted that may be fruitful.

I appreciate what you are doing (or, trying to do) - reminding everyone of the simple common-sense truths that will hopefully prompt them to think more critically about what they believe. I can also understand the possibility that what you post is, in your opinion, the limit of what you feel you are able to do. I do not want to discourage you from seeking the truth about all things or trying to help others see that truth; however, a little discernment of the situation can really be quite beneficial! ;)

If a thread topic calls for the examination of scripture to be the priority - should it not be in the forefront of discussion in the thread?

I am not telling you what you do or do not have the right to post. I am only asking you to consider allowing discussions that may be fruitful to continue without the kind of unnecessary detraction/distraction that may "do damage" to those discussions in a way that renders them unfruitful.

In fairness - we should all be careful of what we "spout" into the threads we post in - I dare say that you cannot "easily prove wrong" many/some/all of the things he has posted.

But - in any case - after all of the time, effort, and posts that have been spent - let us keep it close to scripture - shall we...?

Okay. Now:
~ What exactly is the 'expanse'?
is division and space
~ What exactly is the water below it?
will become seas
~ What exactly is the water above it?
will become the cloud and storm system

but here's the key, in my opinion, we begin with a Sphere and all God does here is separate water. by any amount of reasoning, this should not distort the Sphere at all. All God did was create the literal dimensions of earth before then separating the below water and unveiling what we know earth actually is, land/dirt.

i think it's odd to call Earth, Earth, when it's 70% water and earth means dry land.

this is why i am convinced about the Earth not being flat at all.

Also, dry land has to be higher than 70% water.
so right there, that shows no longer level and flat.
and the Dry Land is actually 1/3 desert, just under a 1/3 mountains, and remaining basic 30 to 35% flat land.
So, Earth, is literally only about 1/8 flat dry land.
that ain't nothing to be bragging about at all.

'division' ?

What precisely do you mean by 'division' ? (in terms of the physical creation)

Or, do you simply mean that the 'expanse' is the division-of and the space-between the water-below and the water-above?

you already had all of the water below, to begin with. now, you're diving that water from the whole and moving that divided portion of water upwards. that creates space and distance between both sets of water.

Do you realize that the Bible tells us that it never rained upon the earth until the flood?

At the end of Creation Week, no "cloud and storm system" existed yet - and did not exist until the flood.

Therefore, the water above cannot be a "cloud and storm system" - it had to be something else.
