Did the apostles teach baptism?

I like to describe it as repentance is putting off the old and water baptism is putting on the new.

Yet in the Greek it does not say that

It would be like saying “everyone repent and let them be baptized for the remission if sin and you will be given the gift if the spirit”

I like to describe it as repentance is humbling yourself and admitting the truth and God baptizes us into Christ With the washing (Baptism) of regeneration (new birth) of the HS

So how do you harmonize your interpretation of Acts 2:38 (water baptized in order to obtain the remission of sins and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit) with what Peter said in Acts 10:43-47? These Gentiles clearly believed, received the gift of the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues (spiritual gift which is ONLY for the body of Christ - 1 Corinthians 12) and were saved BEFORE water baptism.

As far as I know everyone is saved before water baptism. At least they are in my world.

try studying it in the Greek.

it does not say what they claim it says, it CANT because the rules of language does not allow it

Sorry but you are wrong. I am writing it in English but I read it in the greek and have been doing so for a very long time. Believe what you want but I will stick to the original which is as plain as day.

The gift if the Holy Spirit does
Not point back to baptism it can’t. They are in different forms. One is said to be offered to all and the other is commanded to Only individuals (2nd or 3rd person)

So forgive me if I can not believe you

Your studies have led you to false beliefs (whether or not you will ever acknowledge that).

Peter made it clear in Acts 3:19 that repentance was for the remission of sins, not baptism. And this was based on the words of Christ in Luke 24:47: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Had Christ means baptism for the remission of sins, He would have made that clear in this verse.

He already made that clear in Mark 16:16.

In Luke's version of the GC, the clear point he was making there is that they must begin at Jerusalem. Of course churches ignore that part of the GC for them now.
