my understanding is that we are saved by the grace of the Lord, and has nothing to do with our need to obey God. Do you think this is wrong?
You do not understand what Grace is. According to Wiki: "Grace is a gift from Heavenly Father given through His Son, Jesus Christ. The word grace, as used in the scriptures, refers primarily to enabling power and spiritual healing offered through the mercy and love of Jesus Christ. ... No one can return to the presence of God without divine grace." Grace is the power of God working in us to save us. Not only us but the Grace of God works though us so that we can help others to be enlightened and receive what God wants and has for them (decreed).
