The 12 gates are made as if one pearl. A metaphor for the uncorruptible seed of God by which all born again men enter fellowship with God.

Pearl is the color of Manna which means “what is it?” which I believe is the drawing power of God that works in those who do believe.

Rebekah is used to show the work as a segregate womb like Paul who labored as in birth pain till Christ was formed in Timothy. In that way the whole church is described as the mother of us all as we hold out the gospel seed.

Genesis 24:60 And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.

In that way I think we could say. The gates of the enemies of Christ will never prevail against the gospel key.The binding loosening power of God

Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought. Isaiah 60:11

In Revelation those gates are sealed no one can enter.

Apostles with no other meaning added, which when changed does destroy the proper use of the word, simply means "sent ones" .

The twelve used along with the twelve gates are a remnant of the whole They were put aside for that very purpose a picture of the gospel .Men moving out, other entering in.

The apostle Abel was sent with the gospel, Cain murdered Him

I love how one study leans to another. I had never really studied Hosea before, not really with the exception of a few memory verses and some commentaries a couple weeks ago.

Anyway, this helps me with Ephriam.

I know that we talked about it before but I can not find the thread. My memory leaves a bit to be desired. So anyway...Does anyone know why Dan was not included in Revelations 7 among the 12 tribes. I know Dan was guilty of idolatry but Reuben was not counted I thought for defiling His fathers bed. I know Levi was not given land because of the priesthood, so this in Rev 7 clearly diff. Also Ephraim is missing or at least is not mentioned specifically like Manasseh. Thank you for your time and patience.

God Bless you all.
Gen 49:16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.
Gen 49:17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.
Gen 49:18 I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD.

Dan is not void of being able to have salvation at this time, for the tribe can be saved as well as anybody else.

Eze 39:21 And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.
Eze 39:22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.
Eze 39:23 And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
Eze 39:24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.
Eze 39:25 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;
Eze 39:26 After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid.
Eze 39:27 When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;
Eze 39:28 Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
Eze 39:29 Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

God is bringing the whole house of Israel, all 12 tribes back to Israel, which includes Dan, and leave none of them in the nations anymore, and restore the kingdom to Israel which they shall always be in the truth with God from that time forward, which started when Israel became a nation again, and will be completed when the man of sin, New Age Christ, establishes peace in the Middle East, which will pave the way for all Jews to go to Israel, for the Gentile nations will see to it, and the man of sin wants them all back on their land so he can claim to be their God and Messiah, but God means it for good towards the Jews.

Rev 21:12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
Rev 21:13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
Rev 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

The 12 tribes of the children of Israel, and 12 apostles of the Lamb, are written in the New Jerusalem, so the 12 tribes here probably include Dan because they are the 12 children of Israel, Jacob, where Manasseh is a child of Joseph, a child of Jacob.

So why is Dan not included in the 12 tribes in Revelation 7, for is it because the tribe introduced Israel to idolatry as some say, or is there more to it than that.

Rth 4:21 And Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,
Rth 4:22 And Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.

Boaz married Ruth, a woman from Moab, a Gentile, so David has Gentile blood, but why would God allow Gentile blood to be mingled in with Jewish blood.

Psa 132:11 The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

David's throne would be established forever, and the man Christ, whose deity is God, would take over the throne of David, and sit upon it in the millennial reign of Christ, and sit on the throne in the New Jerusalem forever.

Did God allow a Gentile woman to mingle her blood in with Jewish blood, so David had Jewish blood, who was of the tribe of Judah, and Jesus was of the tribe of Judah, and would take over the throne of David, so that salvation could also come upon the Gentiles as well as the Jews.

Manasseh is a son of Joseph, and is a Gentile, and a Jew, for his mother was Gentile, so is it the same reason here that Gentile blood was included in with the Jews, the 144,000, because the millennial reign of Christ will be both Jew, and Gentile, who are with Jesus, ruling along with Him over the heathen that God spared at the battle of Armageddon.

So is it that Gentile blood had to be mingled with Jewish blood so salvation could come upon Gentiles, and Manasseh had to be included with the 144,000 so Gentiles could rule in the millennial reign along with the Jews with Jesus.

And Dan was the likely choice to be omitted here concerning the millennial reign on earth, but in the New Jerusalem Dan included with the 12 tribes of the children of Israel, for the Gentiles are now out of the flesh, and have a glorified body, so they do not need a representative such as Ruth, or Manasseh, concerning the physical realm, the earth.

I dont quite follow this. Sorry. Yes we can see a reason why Mannessah was included but...Why was Dan omitted? Did all of Dan turn idolatrous? Were they so thoroughly taken captive by assyria and their idols that they could never return?

Ruth decided to follow Boaz and worship his God. Josephs egyptian wife followed Josephs God presumabley.

They were not like King Solomons gentile wives, who all turned his heart to idols.

No Dan like Judas are as types used in parables like the one below. Both were used to represent unbelief no faith. Dan is used to represent one that brings false interpretation or incomplete , that kills like poison . It is indicated by falling back or going backward throughout the bible.

Judas is recorded as also falling back when the word of Jesus resounded in his ears. Its almost as if the Holy Spirit blew them down with a 150 MPH kiss. and said touch not my anointed one.

Genesis 49:17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.

John 18:5-7 King James Version (KJV) They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.

Daniel meaning "God is my judge", does represent Judge as to the letter of the law.... that kills. In that way the description in Genesis seems to support without faith the spiritual understanding hid in the parable no man could please God

O Ephraim, what have I to do with idols? It is I who answer and look after you. I am like an evergreen cypress; from me comes your fruit. Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the Lord are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them.

Manasseh and Ephraim are as one. If one is listed the other is present. I don't think it could be used as Dan and Judas. One to represent the new testenet saints, as the bride of Christ and the other represent the old all together as the same bride of Christ, the church..

Many believe that the "Anti-Christ" will come from the Tribe of Dan.
If the antichrist was of flesh and blood . Then we would walk or understand God not seen by what the eyes see, flesh and blood. like Dan ..But because we do walk by faith and do not need a man to teach us just as we are made aware and warned of the father of lies motive of operation of the anti-christs . (1 John2 :26-27)

There it speaks of antichrist singular and antichrists plural. This helps us identify the spirit of the antichrist .Satan singular, and the workers antichrists, plural as deceived men.

The best example of a work of the antichrist in action is given to us in Mathew 16. There right after the Catholics make the claim that prideful Peter is the key that the gates of hell could never prevail against, in effect he locks himself up as he blasphemes the Son of man Jesus and is in need of the true key for forgiveness. Blasphemy was not held against the Son of man Jesus seen . Today Peter would not of been forgiven. .Blasphemy against the unseen holy place of the father cannot be forgiven. Its cutting off ones own foot. .

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.Mathew 16;22;23
