I have long believed that we don't really know what just about ANY Scripture truly means if we cannot read it and take it into our brains.... THEN turn around and speak it back out in today's language (jargon) so that anyone listening to us, who has never even SEEN a Bible, can fully understand how what we are saying applies to the lives they live this very day in 2017.

Frankly, the blowhardness of quoting Scripture (and saying nothing else) is an indication to me that the poster really may have no idea what they are quoting.
My thoughts are trending the same way.

Quoting the book of Revelation is almost always a prime example of misguided people who have no idea what the book means...... they simply love to spout off about horned beasts roaming around and stars crashing into the Earth.

Wait you started this thread in reference to audio versions of the Bible? This changes everything! I thought you were talking about Bible programs where you could find references without reading context and Google which turns up the verse you are looking for.

Upside is my Esword is off the hook. Downside is my CD player is now on trial...
LOL You decide how you operate. You decide what is right for you. You are the master of your own destiny. That is what free choice is about.

Computers suck!

People have gone from actually studying the Word to Googleing the Word then cutting and pasting it. Makes them look really knowledgeable but they actually learn very little this way. That's why so many here don't believe the majority of the bible. They don't know what it says. And they do it all intellectually to win their point. Because of this there is little love involved in this site. Only a mediocre show of it. Though to be honest, there are some real Christians in this forum.

Its all because of this tech shortcut called computers.
its a shame if some people do that to appear like something they arent

or if people use any tool for an unjust purpose

but i disagree with the title of the thread

computers are a very useful tool for me personally

Well to be 100% honest I use mine all the time too. I'm a word weaver...I spend a lot of time at my keyboard. Using a typwriter if I made a mistake I would have to much things up with Whiteout or replace and retype a sheet. With the computer I only have to highlight and retype the word or phrase. And too, I do research on my computer too. Looking up facts and events I want use in my writing. I write fiction, but I still want any facts I include to be accurate. Nowadays I use my computer to read my bible because i can increase the size of the font

Exactly....scripture alone does little unless its properly applied to the life of the reader. I actually think people reading without proper understanding and application is a big problem. As is people who have the head knowledge but wouldn't know what grace was if it smacked them in the face.

Keep in mind though that reading the Word fort the sake of reading the Word is good. It renews the mind. Washing of the water by the Word. Just read it aloud.

I disagree. People were doing this long before the computer age with a concordance. Whether people study the Bible like they should and share relevant scriptures, or they pick scriptures with no back up of understanding. Either way, one has to look up relevant scriptures because they can't mention every word in the Bible every time just to cover their point- they must be more specific than the entire bible. And unless you have every scripture memorized, you would have to look it up by google or concordance. Nothing wrong with that.

But as for their intentions, God knows what those are. It matters not anyways, either they biblically prove what you already know, didn't know, or they can't prove it. Either way you have to go by what your conscience says is right. If some different people tell me throughout my life "B is a letter of the alphabet." I just think to myself I already know that. If I didn't, I would thank them for showing me that. But if some people said "Obazud is a letter of the alphabet." I would think to myself "No it's not. And I know because..." Everyone has a God-given right to believe whether a teaching matches the Bible or not, and those who knowingly spread or accept falsehood will not pass God's judgement.

And at any given time, someone could be just learning something you've learned years ago. So it's important to teach the same things over and over again. Just like every day is someone's birthday even though it's not yours. A waterfall never stops producing water, and you should never stop producing truth to the best of your ability. No matter how many times someone tells me "This is a letter of the alphabet." I will always recheck it anew in my mind- this is having an open mind- as we all should. Making sure you're following the doctrine of Christ is not a once in a lifetime thing- but an ongoing lifetime thing- anewed daily.

Then why are you using one? To sit online and debate, at that. And determine who does and doesn't believe the bible based on your opinion of how they use computers to debate you. And from that determining their knowledge and level of spiritual maturity. From a platform that is Notorious for its frequent misinterpretation of intents and personality. Yet you do all this. Which is not loving either.
