Compatibilism. Soft determinism (or compatibilism) is the position or view that causal determinism is true, but we still act as free, morally responsible agents when, in the absence of external constraints, our actions are caused by our desires

I am not intelligent enough to understand what this means. I have been looking into this topic ever since i joined this forum and even more now recently. So my question is, this sounds to be true based on personal experience and just something I can observe around me. A kid will always choose candy over broccoli, because thats just how it is.

Where I lose the plot is: If compatibilist free will is true, and we are "bound" by our nature, why does God ask us to do things we cant do, and then gets mad when we dont do it?

I know this horse has been beaten so many times, but I want this thread to focus on the WILL in particular, how does this work in our salvation?
We are given the gift to be made new alive to God in the risen Son. We, at least me are to believe God has risen Son Jesus from the dead for us to be made new in the risen Life of Son for us, at least this I see, there is no real true life in the first born life of flesh and blood
No flesh (Romans 8:3) can please God Father but Son's and he did that in his walk here on earth, where he only did as his Father asked him to do, took all thought Captive to his Father's obedience willingly for us to see and believe too. Mainly in: He is risen where new life for us the people are given it, in Father's Spirit and Truth (John 4:23-24) for us to walk in God's Spirit willingly, never forcefully or by any manipulating that people do, I have, am guilty of have. Repented and am learning truth.
It is by belief to he is risen where new life is given to see it and love all in mercy and truth given to us too. These believers grow in grace and become mature over time in never giving up on Father's done work, done by Son for us on that cross to us in: the Law is filled for us to now walk by only God's love of 1 Cor 13:4-7 too, it gets imputed into God's children that God accepts, when anyone believes God, God then seals them to see truth over all errors here in this world to this day still going on.
Mercy overcame and overcomes all wrath, and is done in Son once for us all and does not stop belief, no matter what happens good or bad, remains in love and mercy to all as is done for us all through Son first. Then new life begins Accepted, forgiven, and sealed to see to choose to beleive or not consciously Eph 1:6,7,13, Phil 1:6
Accepted, forgiven and sealed by God to see it and choose freely, thank you
Therefore between God and you personally choose thank you
