Okay so Jesus is the final teacher! Then God gives his spirit to give understanding of what? Of the teachings of Jesus. So we are never free of an authoritative teacher, one sent by God. Jesus was the one to obey without question. Are there many Jesus’s, no! But are there many interpretations of his words? yes! But even Paul said there was ONE truth, and Jesus spoke simple words. Jesus predicted his words would be misunderstood and twisted. Christianity is a pagan religion, though Jesus’ teachings remain true.
“Okay so Jesus is the final teacher! Then God gives his spirit to give understanding of what? “
of course Jesus is the final word if you would just read John 14-17 you would understand a lot of it .
The holy spirit is the spirit of Jesus who walked and taught and preached the gospel throughout isreal.
“And because ye are sons,
God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts crying, Abba, Father.”
Galatians 4:6 KJV
The same Jesus who walked on earth with men and women taught them healed them suffered and died for them rose up from the grave and ascended to heaven where he sent his spirit o to the hearts of anyone and everyone that
hears and believes the gospel that Jesus preached and lived and died and rose for
you receive jesus spirit
the spirit of gods son it’s why he says clearly the answer to your question
“Jesus answered and said unto him,
If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is
the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
John 14:23-26 KJV
Jesus chose witnesses of his life and death and resurrection to go preach the gospel to all the world and he told them “ wait until you receive the holy spirit then you’ll have power and
be my witnesses to all the earth these men wrote the Bible we all believe
So you have this part that is the role of the apostles to take from what Jesus said and reveal it tonus more plainly not change or deny anything but help us understand it as a group a church hat didn’t walk and talk with him as they did
“
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
He shall glorify me: for
he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that
he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”
John 16:12-15 KJV
That’s the apostles role to witness the same gospel to all people and to take what Jesus spoke to them in parable and mysterious words and make it plainly known and understood to th e people aa
Paul’s place in things is here
“
Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; and
declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: by whom
we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:”
Romans 1:1, 3-6
Paul agreed with everything Jesus taught including baptism Jesus said this
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and
preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
Mark 16:15-16 KJV
Paul’s role being later chosen as an apostle was the to explain what baptism means and how it applies Jesus said “
believe the gospel and get baptized and be saved “
paul and the apostles role was to
by the Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus promised by Jesus explain how baptism works and why it’s important like this
“Know ye not, that
so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?”
Romans 6:3 KJV
( read through chapter 8 of o retested in what baptism means and why it’s important )
or another place to look
“
buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are
risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;”
Colossians 2:12-13 KJV
Or another
“For
as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”
Galatians 3:27 KJV
That’s why he sent the apostles and filled them with his spirit that’s thoer role Jesus preached the gospel and they further reveal and explain what he established
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which
believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
John 8:31-32, 34, 36 KJV
jesus said that Paul later is speaking to people who had been taught that so he speaks ot this way
“Know ye not, that
to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey;
whether of
sin unto death,
or of
obedience unto righteousness?
But God be thanked, that
ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.”
Romans 6:16-18 KJV
God sent the apostles tomoresch the gospel Paul is a revelator of things Jesus had already eerablished but hadn’t explained paul and the apostles role is here taking Jesus words and making them more revealed
“I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. “
