Why would I need to explain it when you explained it in your next comment?
There you go. If none of you believe that Jesus was born on December 25th, then why do you celebrate that day as if it is the day of his birth? That sounds like a fair and legitimate question to me.
You would lose that bet because people are not nearly as ignorant as you seemingly think them to be. In reality, there are multitudes of people (Jews, Muslims, atheists, agnostics, etc.) who are well aware of the pagan origins of Christmas, and for many of them it is but one of many stumbling blocks which potentially keeps them from coming to saving faith in Jesus Christ. In other words, they see Christianity as just a repackaged pagan belief system which is centered around sun worship. This is not just a theory. I have personally spoken to many such people. As a Christian, should I not be concerned about their souls? Should I personally cling to that which both they and I know is pagan; thereby losing an opportunity to potentially share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them? Like I said, people are not nearly as ignorant as you seemingly think them to be.
My point friend is this....if you are convicted and stead fast on not celebrating that's fine with me and I think I speak for others here that feel the same way.
But to go so far as to wag your finger and call us liars, ignorant, and suggest we have no clue to the history of this event is what we all are speaking to.
No way am I saying your wrong in your conviction, but you are wrong in your approach.
There is no way I would tell anyone Jesus was born on dec 25th and this is the time we should celebrate.
Now consider this...this date is known all over the world as a Christian holiday. It is celebrated as such.
It has been a tradition for years.
How great is it that we could steal a pagan holiday and do a make over to get the message out?
Daniel didn't stop praying because he was in a pagan nation.
God sent Jonah to a pagan country.
Abraham first covenant was a pagan ritual.
It's the heart of the people that God is concerned about....ask David.
If it be possible I'd steal Halloween, I'd steal back the rainbow. I'd bring back Pentecost rather than Easter.
As Joseph said in the old testament....you ment it for evil God ment it for good. I may be grasping at straws here in this defence but only trying to show the heart.

Peace be with you and yours.

Good.

See? You did it again. As far as the liars part is concerned, you already admitted that you don't believe that Jesus was born on December 25th, yet you behave before the world as if he was. What would you call someone who does the opposite of what he or she believes in? A liar? A hypocrite? A compromiser? A man-pleaser? Anyhow, you just lied in this post. When did I ever call any of you ignorant or suggest that you have no clue to the history of this event? Go ahead, and quote me. Ironically, you are the one who has claimed that others are ignorant or basically clueless in relation to the history of this event. Here. I will quote you.
Gathering together as family and friends , giving God the glory and honor, supping with strangers and foe alike, reminding the world that a savior which is Christ the Lord had been born and sharing his story in hopes of adding to the kingdom, bringing hope into a darken world, who seize the moment and opportunity which has been passed down in history as a tribute to God for his kindness and mercy who has transformed a little known pagan celebration into the truth of his promise to all nations.
In fact I bet if you took a poll in your neighbor hood maybe just maybe you might get 1 possible 2 people that that know about the pagan holiday.
There are millions of people in this world who recognize that the origins of Christmas are pagan, and you are the one who has claimed otherwise, or you are the one who is truly guilty of that which you are now falsely accusing me of.
No way am I saying your wrong in your conviction, but you are wrong in your approach.
There is no way I would tell anyone Jesus was born on dec 25th and this is the time we should celebrate.
And yet, as a living epistle who is known and read of all men (2 Cor. 3:2), that is precisely what you are telling them through your actions.

Anyhow, save your projections for somebody else. I am not the least bit interested in any of them, and if they persist, then I will simply put you on ignore.
