I decided not to waste any more time on you because you deny the Word of God, which means you reject Jesus. I'll give one more Scripture where Jesus told us to PRAY for each other, which is intercessory prayer.

Jms:5:16:
16 Confess therefore your sins one to another: and pray one for another, that you may be saved. For the continual prayer of a just man availeth much.

blondie - Jesus says don't waste my time with heretics, cause you won't believe HIM

Ti:3:9:
9 ¶ But avoid foolish questions and genealogies and contentions and strivings about the law. For they are unprofitable and vain.

Ti:3:10:
10 A man that is a heretic, after the first and second admonition, avoid:

Ti:3:11:
11 Knowing that he that is such an one is subverted and sinneth, being condemned by his own judgment.

If you decide you want Jesus in your life, and will believe Him - let me know

Folks - You can all see I showed Biblical Proof that we're called to intercessory prayer - and Jesus' mother is at the top of the list, He always does what His mother asks. Clearly it is a Christian belief to ask Jesus' mother to pray for us.

This blondie person is like the devil when he tempted Jesus in the desert, (s)he just wants to argue about anything for the sole purpose of denying God's Word

There are several, actually. I'll touch on it just a little bit to help get you started, but I recommend you do your own homework on the subject.

The intercession of fellow Christians—which is what the saints in heaven are (including Mary, of course)—clearly does not interfere with Christ’s unique mediatorship because in the four verses immediately preceding 1 Timothy 2:5, Paul says that Christians should intercede:
"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and pleasing to God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim. 2:1–4).
Clearly, then, intercessory prayers offered by Christians on behalf of others is something "good and pleasing to God," not something infringing on Christ’s role as mediator.

So if I can ask you or others to pray for me and/or my prayer intentions and to intercede for me then surely I can ask the Mother of our Lord to pray for me.

Of course one should pray directly to Jesus, but that does not mean it is not also a good thing to ask others to pray for one as well. Ultimately, the "go-directly-to-Jesus" objection boomerangs back on the one who makes it: Why should we ask any Christian, in heaven or on earth, to pray for us when we can ask Jesus directly? If the mere fact that we can go straight to Jesus proved that we should ask no Christian in heaven to pray for us then it would also prove that we should ask no Christian on earth to pray for us, which would fly in the face of what the Apostle Paul (among others) teaches us.

Protestants are generally blind to this simple truth, buying into the false teaching propagated by fundamentalists out of their fear of the Truth of Christ and His one true Church.

God bless

If non catholics are the fakes here how do you explain the catholics taking out the 2nd commandment? Your explanation should be amusing. I like being amused.

Deuteronomy 4:2
Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you.

Deuteronomy 12:32
See that you do all I command you; do not add to it or take away from it.

One more thing, if you ever do bother to read a Bible, you read that when people leave this world, they go to the next, they're not dead.

Why did it take Roman Empire 325 years to accept Jesus? First thing they do is get all Christians to worship on Emperor Constantin's Sun worshiping Day, Sunday. And, you better have done it or you would be dead; no questions asked.
Hey, I can't find where they mention the rosary beads in the bible. I must not be looking hard enough. What year did they first start selling them, anyway?
Would any logical person erect a stone statue and pray to them when the Ten Commandment clearly tells us not to. I was just wondering what would compel smart people to decide to follow a religion that does the opposite of what the God tells us to do. I guess when you see people getting killed all around you will do whatever it takes to stay alive.

Peter the first Catholic Pope, Ha, Ha, Ha, tell me another one.

Oh yea, I forgot the Catholic church evolved into what it is today; because the Pope is infallible.
I don't know what is worse, talking to a JW, a Mormon or a Catholic.

I might not know the bible entirely, I might not have found Jesus like you say (even thou he is not lost; I found Jesus knocking at my door and I open it). But the history of the Catholic church is very well documented and I would be a shame to be associated with all that torture, false imprisonment, killing of millions in the name of Jesus. People use to have to hide from the Christian Crusaders (Just like the Jews did in the time of the Nazi's. Why was that necessary to spread Christianity.
The Christian world needs to make a change. Its no wonder that attendance is declining in the churches. Christians can not agree on anything. I see it here on this web site.

I came here to learn something and participate in discussions. Instead nothing is clear and two sides to every story. Just pick one and go with it. If you say your not a Catholic then you have not found Jesus.
They say do not talk about religion and politics because you will never win. And, they were right. Every subject has contradiction.
Maybe I should be a Catholic and just go to church twice a year (Christmas & Easter) and not think about it after that. I guess that's the road to heaven. Oh yea, and get a tattoo of Jesus on my back and of the virgin Mary on my arm, and pick a good saint for the other.

Oh yea, quit calling her a virgin. She had more than one child.

The Roman Empire picking a religion to follow is like The United States endorsing the Mormons and make it mandatory, failure to comply would mean loosing you family , home, and life.
I would imagine that we would all have a picture of Joseph Smith hanging in our living room in the United States. And, the image of Moroni blowing a horn on a flag waving right next to the US flag on the pole.

Oh hey, can you retrieve the scripture where God tells us to pay intercessory prayers to mary? Bbibleteacher s having a hard time finding it
Gladly, I'd love to show you your errors. but first I must correct you on a couple of things. First off, I see you are a believer of the "Sola Scriptura" doctrine. Which in its self is unbiblical. (as of yet, no one has showed me a passge of Scripture that says the bible alone is sufficient as a sole rule of faith. Can you?)

Secondly....
your misunderstanding seems to make is missing the crucial different between prayer as worship and prayer as mere communication. Worship, of course, is for God alone. But when a Catholic asks a saint to petition God on his behalf, he is hardly worshipping that saint - he is merely making a request, which, in fact, is identical to what Protestants do when they ask friends and family to pray for them.

Another of your critical misunderstanding - or objection - is the assertion that Christ's status as Mediator between God and man makes intercessory prayer wrong. But this is a mixing of apples and oranges (which is made evident by the Bible's own examples of intercessory prayer, among other things).

1 Timothy 2:5 says "For there is one God. There is also one mediator between God and the human race, Christ Jesus". But in this very book, this very chapter, in fact in the verses just before this verse Paul commands Christians to engage in intercessory prayer!

"First of all, then, I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings be offered for everyone, for kings and for all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotion and dignity. This is good and pleasing to God our savior, who wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth."(1 Timothy 2:1-4) Oops.... did you forget about this passage? Paul requests that Christians pray for one another. To acknowledge this and yet claim that it is then wrong to ask another Christian to pray for us is nonsensical.

And did you happen to forget about when Moses and Elijah appear with Christ to the apostles during the Transfiguration? It appears you have. This is proof alone that the saints in heaven can have knowledge of activities and people on earth and are concerned with them.

Not only that, the book of Revelations offers a picture of the heavenly saints offering the prayers of the faithful to God on our behalf:

"Then I saw standing in the midst of the throne and the four living creatures and the elders, a Lamb that seemed to have been slain. He had seven horns and seven eyes; these are the (seven) spirits of God sent out into the whole world. He came and received the scroll from the right hand of the one who sat on the throne. When he took it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of the elders held a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the holy ones." (Rev 5:6-8).

And: "Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a gold censer. He was given a great quantity of incense to offer, along with the prayers of all the holy ones, on the gold altar that was before the throne. The smoke of the incense along with the prayers of the holy ones went up before God from the hand of the angel." (Rev 8:3-4)

How beautiful are these passages depicting Heavenly intercession of the saints on our behalf, do you not agree? And there can be no doubt about what they depict: angels and other saints offering prayers to God. Since those in Heaven are perfect and have every desire fulfilled, these supplications must come from the suffering Church in exile on earth.

So in closing blondie, you need to ask yourself.....Why is it worthwhile to ask the saints in paradise to pray with us? Well, maybe because James declares in Scripture, "The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects." It's as simple as that. Ta... Ta!

After almost 9000 posts one thing is abundantly clear. Christians will not convince catholics to trust SOLELY in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. There is plenty of "record" here for an honest skeptical catholic to peruse. Brothers and sisters, what fruit is there here? They have been given the truth many times over. It is certain that mocking their fallacies will only harden their hearts and resolve against the truth. Now that they received the truth let's let the Lord work in their hearts. Peace, Grace and love to you all.

Her scripture should suffice for you!! Why do you continue to masquerade as a christian? You anger God. You blaspheme his name when you continue to do as he said not do. He said you shall have no gods before me....Christians pray to God. RC are in a false religion and pray to false gods.
