I took a bit of Hebrew at UMBC in Baltimore. I can literally look at Isaiah 14:12 and see there is no word "star" in the verse the NIV mistranslates.

The Hebrew word for star - kokab כוכב - is not in Isaiah 14:12. The word for bright or shining IS in the verse, STAR is NOT. See for yourself.

The editors of the NIV have INTENTIONALLY left a Luciferian heresy in the NIV despite having been asked to change it for over a decade. It's an error, an easily demonstrable and heretical error.

ask these quibblers if they believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit

why have they gone so far off the topic and how they pray

ask them and see

the op was a decent question but this thread has become a backwater of arguing about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin

and of course being advised that Jesus was just blowing smoke

Don't know where this is aimed exactly. I'll just say I've seen all this before in other circles: users with a religious avatar or a pious username (or an eagle/American flag avatar with "patriot" or some other catchword in the username) to make themselves seem legitimate while only intending to sow confusion and chaos.

I take the Biblical command to "try the spirits" seriously. I'll leave it there.

Learning to pray with good things following is an important issue, I am hoping can be worked out. Your issue with the word star cannot compare to it, it has no business in this discussion.
That comment was ancillary to my point that another user keeps leaning heavily on a questionable Bible version. But your point is duly noted.

If this thread cannot come to any conclusions based on authoritative Scripture, it is of no interest to me anyways, so I will bow out of this discussion.

not you at all

I said YOU should ask 'them'

I'm just a racoon anyway  albeit serious and up to here with people ruining threads with their own pomp and circumstance

ps: no need to ask really

I believe we can pray amass as we are human and sometimes do ask according to our own desires. I mean just a couple days ago I asked God to somehow give this man I adore a tesla because he needs a car and it is his dream to have one and in my heart I knew that it was not his will but I asked anyways that was asking amiss/
But honestly for the most prart my prayer life consists of just talking with him I don't think you can really pray amiss in that form when it's just a conversation between you and him. But true prayer is from the heart no matter how you pray you can do the Lords prayer you can do it in your own words you can do it in a chant regardless of how you do it if you do it from the heart a heartfelt prayer is never amis even if the answer is no because it is the heartfelt prayers the ones you pour your being into that he treasures.

My prayer shawl that I use to covers me so the Lord and I are alone together under that shawl has taught me that prayer is a matter of listening as much as speaking.

So many of my prayers have to do with relationships, and they are seldom answered. However, it seems the Lord sends me people I hadn't met before to help me cope. I wonder if we are to freely let others choose their own way, just as the Lord lets us choose our way, and we are not to interfere with their way at all even to pray for them to accept God's ways?

Well think of it this way every relationship is different and everyone connects to people differently so likewise people pray and talk with him differently as well. My way may not be another persons way and your way may not be my way. For me I don't need a shawl to be in private with him I speak to him in my head but for you it helps you to feel more private with him so whatever works best is how you should do it.
