Before I knew Sam Smith was gay, I listened to his music "Stay With Me" and such. But then, I started wondering.. Is it okay for Christians to listen to songs sung by gay people? And also Sam Hunt (country singer), "Love Me Like You Do" from 50 shades of grey (will not watch it). I listen to their music and apply it in a different way. I mean, they may be singing about gay relationships but I interpret it in a different way. If I hadn't ever watched the music video, I wouldn't even have the thought of two men together when listening to that song. Is it wrong to listen to the music of gay artists? I mean, I'm not supporting gay rights or anything, just the music and the lyrics.
I grew up listening to Elton John back in the 70s, I still listen to my albums every once in a while but I refuse to go see a movie about him pushing a Homosexual is A-OK agenda. But, if we buy a Hot Dog from a corner stand, and we understand that guy is a homosexual, I think it's quite an arrogant statement to up and say, I will not buy this hot dog, this man is a sinner. We all are sinners, now if that guy puts up a banner proclaiming Homosusuality is A-OK and God loves Homosexuality, (either one) I would refuse to be a party to that man's thinking and I would not but there.
Since I bought those albums long ago, I will sometimes listen, but I would never support anything that supports his position or any other homosexuals agenda. If I came face to face with a homosexual celebrity I would come right out and say, your soul is going to be damned for your homosexual lifestyle unless you repent. We don't have to go overboard, I mean what if I am told a guy is cheating on his wife, should I not allow him to install carpet in my house? But, if that guy has a sign on his van saying that wife-beating and wife cheating is a GOOD THING, I would tell him to get out of my yard, of course. It all has to be looked at in a practical manner.
Let's not disengage sinners, but let's also not celebrate their sins with them. What would Jesus do? I think he would have a meal with a sinner and tell them of their sins death sentence, and his life-giving forgiveness. So, he went to a tax collector's house to eat, but if that tax collector had been having a wild party full of immoral going on, Jesus would not have gone. So, if we can reach souls, we mingle, but we do not need to be a party to their immoral behaviors. I would never, ever, ever go anywhere where they are celebrating a wicked agenda. That is why I would never vote Dem, and why I feel dirty at times voting Republican. They are both evil parties, for the most part, thieves, crooks, liars, and cowards. But the Dems have become a party full of Anti-God bigots.
