I think the first act of a new member is to knell down and pledge or swear themselves to some guy or image they call "worshipful master" .. I don't think that's going to look so good on the eternal report card before the Father on judgment day.

Maybe from own experience? I will not answer that one as some research in any way (if you know what occult is) will show and make clear that its occult
My information comes directly from the horses mouth. I've known these men most of my life. I've asked them why they were Freemasons (actually they prefer Masons). Both are heavily involved in the construction industry. When they have a problem, or they are broke down away from home, they can pick up the phone and find help almost immediately.

Masonry is a brotherhood of men from many different walks of life. They are not, nor do they profess to be a Christian organization. I think that if you really researched them, away from the fear mongers, you will find that there are many Masons who are dedicated men of God.

Yes, emphatically, a Freemason can be a Christian!

this is my first post on CC Chat ever. Freemasons are not Christians. There 33 levels in freemasonry. At the top are the leaders of each lodge. They have a book one might call the bible of the freemasons. The name of this book is called " morals and dogma ". On page 321 of the printed version states clearly the the god of freemasonry is Lucifer the light bearer. Read Isaiah 14, The bible clearly say lucifer is the devil.
The word freemason in english is really a french word. Meaning "barer of thr light". In Isaiah 14 the word lucifer is translated " barer of the light.
Ref. Jack Haris book he wrote after he became a Christian, is a easy book to explain how masons are tricked into believing lies.
You can not serve two masters.

"They do not know what they have gotten themselves into..." :(

I recommend a book that you should give them -- and, any other mason who claims to be a Christian:

MASONRY Beyond The Light by William Schnoebelen

At the very core of Freemasonry - in the "upper echelon" / "higher up" part of the organization - "it is as occult as you can get" -- 'Satan worship' is the true religion of Freemasonry. Only, the members in the "lower" part of the organization are not told this...

I second this book recommendation it is a good read and fast to understand the basics.....

To OP:

You cannot be a freemason and a Christian......they are polar opposites.....

the great architect of the universe is satan not their abstract "god" they portray......they ridicule the deity of Jesus, claim that God and Satan are Equal opposites (think yin/yang black/white paradigm)....and furthermore they use the KJV Bible (which was assembled by a freemason francis bacon under king james (another freemason) and they read the bible with hidden meanings in some verses.....for example in malachi 4:2 they call the SUN of righteousness with healing in his wings?
why is this....

b/c freemasonry involves sun worship (RA egyptian derivative god) and the wings on a SUN disc are a hieroglyph that the egyptians used to refer to RA/Apollo etc all different names for satan (sun god).
They read the Bible but some phrases have been tampered with (as shown above) to have their hidden meaning that only the enlightened/illuminated/initiated in freemasonry will pick up while the unitiated masses will not understand the sun reference being portrayed there in the Bible....

If you are a freemason and claim to be a Christian you need to repent and you need to seek deliverance b/c the ceremony itself places a curse on your family by kissing the Bible to seal the oath...

It is not some benevolent organization as is portrayed by the shriners and other bs organizations....their MO is to balance both good and evil....on one hand they so called create cures for these ill children....on the other hand they create wars and diseases to perpetuate these ill children....especially the higher ascended masters (late 30* degree and up)

It's a massive mirage that you need to get out of....

Based on some of the Masons I've known, they couldn't take over a Chuck-E-Cheese, much less the world...

No offense to any Masons here....

But, I agree with many of the comments.... I don't believe a Christian has any business being involved in organizations like that.

satan's world is chuck full of 'illusion', when Christ begins to call us out, He allows us to
view the world, a little here, a little there, in order for us to comprehend the bizzar-ness
that we are born into,,,,Praise His Holy Name, for whom He elects to come out!!!

Can a Christian be a freemason. This is a large question. And there are pastors that are freemason. There are 33 degrees or levels in the "cult " of freemasonry. Low level members from the first degree are sworn to silence And repeat this vow of secrets of the lodge at penalty of death.
The real god of freemasonry.
To join you must be in good health, and believe on one god. Any one god will do. allah. satan budda and so on.
The bible of freemasonry is called, morals and dogma. Here's a link to a cut and paste from that book....

A the high levels of masonry the without question know there god is the devil. Period. End of speculation!

Is this going to go back to "You cannot be a drug addict and a Christian" or "You cannot be a Catholic and a Christian" again? Seems more boring.

Ha Ha! I was going to say something like that. My husband and I recently purchased the Masonic Lodge in our town -- the Masons had to abandon it because they could not afford it any longer. They kind of ran the building in the ground -- SO disorganized.

A bunch of nice fellows, but they couldn't manage a Chuck-E-Cheese let alone take it over!

With that said, I am rather personally dismayed by how many men in my church actually are also Masons. I know they really want my hubby to join (especially when they found out he is directly descended from a Knight Templar who fought in the Crusades), but hubby is reluctant. I'm thinking that is the Holy Spirit guiding him there!

So Billy has two friends that are freemasons, and you know someone who was married to one? (Chatrooms are always hit and miss on people telling the truth.) Who do you think has more experience with freemasons then?

Freemasons are a religion of their own. They don't tell you that when you first start, but as move up in the club, the more you find that they worship a false deity.

in order to be a mason you have to believe in "a" creator, i guess any creator will work for their group or maybe later one they will give you specifics on exactly which "creator" they are referring to. strange they dont say you have to believe in the Lord of Israel, or the Heavenly Father or the Father of Jesus Christ.
in Christianity we have "the" creator and this creator refers to one, the Heavenly Father of our bible.

* * * "Do not let your husband [ even ] consider it !" * * *

His 'reluctance' is a very good thing. The Lord Jesus Christ is all he needs. The Holy Spirit will most certainly never guide anyone into freemasonry . . . ;) :D

Please get your husband one of these books. And, possibly later, some for those in your church who profess to be both a Mason and a Christian. Please understand and remember that those in the lower 'degrees' more-than-likely do not know about what the book will tell them. The book is essentially the testimony of the author concerning his in-depth involvement in freemasonry and the occult.

Yes, emphatically, a Freemason can be a Christian!
"Well, then listen very closely to this horse's mouth..."

I speak this with authority - having "been there and done that" - and this is my testimony.

I am an ex-'Master Mason'.

It is not that a person cannot be a freemason ( join the organization; be a member ) while also being a born-again Christian. It is possible. No doubt many-a-Christian has been drawn into the organization without understanding fully what it is that they have joined themselves to. { "Yep - that was me - many years ago..." }

( "But -- praise be to God -- the Holy Spirit helped me to come-to-my-senses and depart from it." )

What freemasonry is ultimately about - at its core - and, more-and-more as you "go higher" in the organization - most definitely opposes Christianity, Christian beliefs, and Christian principles - "at every level"; it has occult 'underpinnings'.

It has a certain 'seduction' about it that appeals to the 'carnal' nature in a man.

I was drawn into it because of the respect I held for all of the men I knew - in my biological family, and in my church family, and elsewhere - while a child growing up. I had been well indoctrinated with the idea - as it is often stated and promoted by freemasons:

"Freemasonry makes good men into better men."

Because I earnestly believed all of this "was a good thing" - I [ simply ] "followed the footsteps" of those I respected...

Had my conscience not been "dulled" by the 'grandeur' of it all, I would have better seen the spritual conflict-of-interest that it truly was.

When people say "No Freemason can be a Christian." -- they mean it in the sense that the man, as a Freemason, cannot be completely and entirely 'true' to Christianity - whether he realizes it or not. Whether he realizes it or not, the 'essential essence' of Freemasonry is actually anti-Christ and Satanic.

Yes - Masonry is a brotherhood. And, it "looks good on the surface"; however, what it was founded on - and is based on --- is the 'epitome' of "not good" --- and, no Christian has any business being any part of it...

Billy -- I am not suggesting that your friends are Satanic -- "chances are" - they do not understand the "full picture" -- they only know what they have been led to believe about the organization. The rest has been kept from them - deliberately.

"If you really research it, you will discover that the extent of secrecy and deception within freemasonry reaches the height as any that can be found on the earth..."

"Take it [ directly ] from the horse's mouth..." ;)

Any and All:

If you are a Christian -- and, are a member of any masonic organization -- you need to get out NOW !!!

Get a copy of the book I recommended in an earlier thread. Read it. Pray about it. Ask God to help you see the truth about Freemasonry. And, as He opens your eyes to the truth, you should find yourself wanting to be as far removed from it as you possibly can be!

I think the secrecy of it all is what is not right. I was in the Rainbow Girls over 40 years, which is part of the masons. I was not close to the Lord at that time but had a bad feeling about it after I had been in it awhile. So many rituals and secrets that made absolutely no sense.
I meant over 40 years ago. I was only in it about a year. What a typo. That's a Monday on the keyboard

Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma is an interesting look into upper echelon masonry too if I might add. It gets quite esoteric and occult. Since you have been through the whole process, I have a question about one of the legends as it is taught in the lodge. During the Hiram Abiff story, when his ancestor appears in the fire and tells him to cast himself in......is it CAIN or Tubal-Cain that actually appears? I have read both versions of the story but have always been curious which figure it actually is when taught in the lodge.

Some say Freemasons are planning to take over the world, while others say they are just a benevolent fraternal society.
What's the truth about Freemasonry? Can a Christian be a Freemason?
Freemasons are a open secret group of people. They go up in ranks to the unknown, only to find out you have to follow every step of the Freemason codes. With God? He has told you everything, there is no secrets with God. As for Freemason taking over the world? well if you are slowly and tactfully referring to the Illuminati? then I suggest that you steer away from all that. Concentrate on your walk with God, and not of the things of the world.

If you have a true salvation experience you are sealed with the Holy Ghost till the day of redemption. You have eternal life through the death, burial, and resurrection of our dear Lord. Why do you need another group outside of the body of Christ to fellowship with?
