Is everyone wrong, then, in your view? Nobody understands the gospel well enough to articulate it properly, or, in your own words, exactly right? I think the gospel message is simple enough that even children can grasp it. How incredibly difficult do you think it really is?
Jesus must be weeping right now.

I’m hoping that someone has studied the history and dealt with this topic prayerfully. Is there anyone like that here, anyone who knows the roots of their beliefs?
Again, I’m not stirring the pot. I’d just like to have a cicvil conversation.
Have you studied the root of your belief since that is the topic?

Please stop twisting my words.

The issue no one has exactly right is predestination vs free will.

I specifically said each side has the Gospel unto Salvation correct .
Where did you say that? It is not in the post I quoted... not even in its long form. What am I twisting?

I’ve seen this movie before. So twist away!

“So again, I’m sorry for saying that. I have truly tried to get people to see that neither side compromises the Gospel unto Salvation, and neither side, ALTHOUGH THEY THINK THEY DO, have this incredibly difficult issue exactly right.

But we shouldn’t be casting dispersions on one another because both sides believe in the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

You say you specifically said each side has the Gospel unto Salvation correct . Where did you say that?

Or are you falsely accusing me? Door number one, or door number two?

Arguing that any man is predestined to go to Hell and has no choice DOES compromise the Gospel.

I feel sorry for you then. Waste of time.
I agree. I found his writings obtuse. People attribute a saying to him, though, that I discovered to be of a different origin.

I do like the saying itself: In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity :)

I’ve also read Pelagius and Arminian, I’m no expert but I do have interest in saints past and what makes up our church history.
Church history? I guess that depends on what is considered the church :geek:

Can one of y’all tell me how you deal with the issue of free will doctrines being labeled heresy throughout history, as well as the fact that all major denominations have clearly confessed adherence to the doctrine of election in their confessions?
Not stirring the pot here, I’m sincerely asking.

I respect your plea, but disagree that there would be any validity to free will gospel conversion. John 1:13 flat out denies mans will having anything to do with conversion. Also John 6:63.

I prefer the term "self will" over "free will." Man's will is constrained by too many factors to really call it "free." On the other hand, self will is clearly a Biblical principle, especially in regards to whether it is aligned with God's will, or not... which is rather the point, isn't it?

Someone has obviously digested lots of bologna. Perhaps time could have been better spent reading and studying the Word. Start at John 3.

So riddle me this. God knows the end from the beginning and every person that is His Child.

What’s the difference? The sin of the Amorite is not yet complete.
