Try as you may I'll continue to believe that Jesus is and will continue to destroy the works of the devil.
Of course He is. You see, that is your problem. Pre-mill is the ONLY doctrine that expresses this correctly. Correctly according to the many prophecies uttered by all the prophets since the world began.

As far back as ENOCH. Pre flood buddy. There is no way anybody can say that this event is gradual, imperceptible, and that God is taking these actions NOW or at any point in the past. Nope. Its future, its devastating, its cataclysmic, its once for all time.
Its a future world GOVERNED from Jerusalem by a King on a throne in the Temple.

Jde 1:14
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Jde 1:15
To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Contrary to your belief, I have no problem. The great thing about having Jesus as a Saviour means I get to cast all my cares upon Him.
See...no problems.

That may be so. But you are crippled in terms of preaching the Word. Which includes the many warnings given by Jesus and the prophets and the apostles of the devastating judgements to come upon an unbelieving world.

In fact.....even the normies know that it is all coming unglued. Big time. It is to these that I speak gravely about the coming disasters to befall them, with a hope that some will believe and receive their Savior.

And....this preaching format is extremely effective BTW. Weak sounding platitudes about Jesus simply do not work on some. Realizing that this world is going to burn lights a fire that drives many to Christ.

Another thing....there are plenty of Christians who don't give a hoot about actually getting out there and personally touching the unsaved by preaching directly to them. Not me.......I preach preach preach everywhere, all the time to every creature. Nonstop. One way or another. And what do I preach?

"Repent for the end is near" basically. And that you can be saved from this earthly judgement AND from eternal judgement by being made perfectly righteous and holy by the Blood of the Lamb.

I'm well aware of your assessment of me. I'm also fully aware of the gospel. So I thank you for your interest in my well-being as you understand it. I'm at least tempted to enlarge my group of counselors beyond your fine contributions. I'll keep you posted on what I find.

Not my way....the Way. And I didn't find Him. He wasn't lost. I was.
I was speaking about "find-ing your way" regarding rightly understanding prophecy. It's quite and art. And requires a lot of time and sweat equity to master it.

I knew what you meant. The other answer was just more satisfying to me.

All are not created on equal terms, [...]

Chapter 21 of Book III of John Calvin’s Institutes of the Christian Religion is called “Of the eternal election, by which God has predestinated some to salvation, and others to destruction.”
What about this:

Gen 5:1
"This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;"

So... what do you suppose made Calvin say such a thing? Perhaps a preconceived notion...??

SELFISH!!

[LOL! <--oops!... is this me laughing... or laughing at myself... or laughing at others?? :D ]

JK!
I came by it honestly. I inherited it from Adam. People here have convinced me how good that is. Or was I just tempted?

AND Rev 13…”8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world…”
Christ shed His blood BEFORE the foundation of the world!
If I may...

there are two biblical phrases which are distinct (and referring to distinct things):

--"FROM [apo] the foundation of the world"

--"BEFORE [pro] the foundation of the world"

... and it is the CONFLATING of these two distinct terms that much of the confusion (on this Subject under present discussion) stems from...

The text in Rev13:8 (as you've rightly quoted it at top) is correctly stated as "[Lamb] SLAIN FROM [apo] the foundation of the world" (but not as your comment after that shows, "[Lamb slain] BEFORE [pro] the foundation of the world" No. Many ppl incorrectly CONFLATE the two... so you're not alone in doing that... = ) )

That is a very good question.

I am not sure I want to understand the mind of John Calvin.

How can one escape the hubris that comes with a brilliant mind, and how can a man who knew Greek interpret scripture so poorly.

I will say he should have never picked up that book by Augustine, we would all be a lot better off.
