Not everyone. Only a few received the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
But everyone received the HS. (My point)

Receiving the spirit as a seal, and getting all the gifts is not the same

When Jesus ascended into heaven he said he would send the Comforter. The Comforter is the Holy Spirit the apostles were filled with. This is the third person of the Trinity. We receive Christ into our life when we accept Him as our Lord and Saviour but the Comforter has more blessings to bestow upon us.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit for those who seek them, are an additional empowerment for those who seek to be further used by God in the furtherance of His work, to His glory.
In John 14 Jesus had not yet been crucified what Jesus said after the Resurrection when he appeared to the disciples in John 20:22

I have received gifts from the Holy Spirit...I know what those are

however, that is not my question

again, do you believe a person is saved without the Holy Spirit?

here is the verse I quoted again:

And in Him, having heard and believed the word of truth—the gospel of your salvation—you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
Ephesians 1:13

that is not describing gifts or being baptized in the Holy Spirit.

it is incorrect to state we are only saved when we receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit. in fact, we cannot receive such without being saved first

so if you are saying someone is saved but yet they do not have the Holy Spirit this would not be correct according to Eph 1:13

do you understand what I am asking?

if not, I think we'll leave it then

many do not understand the work of the Holy Spirit is two fold in this way

you have the Holy Spirit for salvation ( can't be saved without HIM) second after you are saved You then are empowered by the Same Only Spirit but the work is not for salvation you are already saved it is for power AS Jesus said in Acts 1:8 before the ascension in Acts 1:9

Correct,

But the gospel is the same, If paul did not preach it, then it is not part of the gospel.
Did Paul just tell the Ephesus disciples to believe in Jesus and go on his way? No, he spoke the same message given on the Day of Pentecost and administered water baptism in Jesus' name and assisted in the disciples receiving the Holy Ghost:

19 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues
, and prophesied.

7 And all the men were about twelve. Acts 19:1-7

No, He never told anyone that. And why you keep insisting people think that is just wrong my friend

Paul told everyone, Believe (have faith entrust your eternity to Christ) and you will be saved.

as he said in eph 2: 10, we are created anew (By Grace through faith) for good works.

Paul taught works, However, he taught they came AFTER a person was saved, Not BEFORE a person is saved.

The doorbell just went, hence the delay replying. We will have to discuss being sealed with the Holy Spirit later. We do have the free-will to turn away from God if we so desire. I wouldn't look on it as an insurance policy if I were you.

Sealed us: In the ancient world, a seal was used to identify and to protect. If something was sealed, everyone knew who it belonged to (the seal had an insignia), and the seal prevented anyone else from tampering with the item. The Holy Spirit is upon us to identify us and to protect us.

Thank you. Are you saying this is an additional blessing?

When he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: (Joh 20:22)

The baptism of Holy Spirit is the sabbath rest. The refreshing. Why? Because we cease doing our works, and pick up His. You, decon, and mailmandan of all people here should be able to see this.

Same thing with our speaking words. Or writing. We cease natural tongues, and speak His perfect language that is above and beyond this world. Being now a Spirit ruled man or woman, rather than the natural man which is fallen.

The REFRESHING REST!
When i read your post,it reminded me of that old nestea commercial where the guy grabs a glass of ice tea and when he drinks it he falls backwards into a beautiful swimming pool.
Lol
What wonderful refreshing God gives his children in the baptism in the Holy Ghost.

This is the promise of eternal life. All believers are promised this, and if you think this promise is the Gift of the Holy Spirit then all well and good, but I believe God has greater gifts.

1. You did not shw me anything I did not already know.
2. I always look up words. (My logos bible has multiple greek-hebrew lexicons, Dictionaries and helps of all kinds, Strongs is but one source.)
Many words have different meanings, so they must be taken in context. Stongs is one which gives multiple defenitions, as so many others do. So context is everything,

In our case, But building up a person or the body is always the same thing, no matter HOW it is done. It is encouraging them, strengthening, Helping them grow in Christ. Paul speaks of many things and many ways in which God helps a child or a body grow. We must not limit God

While I may agree, in the early church prophesy and tongues were used mightily (since the word was not yet complete) I do not agree wiht that today. God works in so many ways, you seem to be bent on trying to limit him

And I have tasted God in ways you can only imagine, the fact you even hint that I have not. That just hurts your case and shows you need to open up your mind some more. Because God works in so many ways, I fear you have not even imagined the way God works.

The Word is not complete EG. Acts continues on. Plus the end is not yet. It’s all being recorded.

Thanks for the pic absolutely. I’ll have that in my mind from now on. Speaking of swimming...I hear the ocean calling my name! But, it keeps raining. Is this a sign? Lol

Ephesians 4:30 New King James Version (NKJV)
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Revelation 5:1-4 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Lamb Takes the Scroll
5 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” 3 And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.

4 So I wept much, because NO ONE was found worthy to open [a]and read the scroll, or to look at it.

Here we see John weeping convulsively because NO ONE could open the seals. If you are in Christ, you are sealed, and ONLY Christ Himself can break that seal. So unless you are saying Jesus is going to take back the gift of Salvation by breaking the seal, that HE PUT ON YOU, and having the Holy Spirit depart, you wanna tell again how YOU are going to break that seal?

If we can walk away god is a liar and he can not and did not perfect us forever and our hope relay solely on us not him

The thing is;- I have two red crosses on one of my posts that I think are undeserved, and if they remain, I shall be putting those two people on ignore.

So god left us an incomplete word?

Sorry sis i Can. It agree he said his word can make us complete in him which means we need nothing else

I agree. Church history is still being written

But what we need to be perfected and made whole mature in Christ was completed 2000 years ago

so far, you have not actually answered my question regarding your post where you say a person can have God and Jesus but not yet the Holy Spirit

I'm not confused on this in the least.

why would you say that? it's impossible

you seem to be twisting what I said, which is unfortunate, but I guess that is how it is

1} when we are saved, come to know Christ as having died in our place and we accept that, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit

2} the baptism in the Holy Spirit is another event that concerns the Holy Spirit

ONE baptism not to be confused with initial salvation

don't say you believe God has greater gifts as though I don't believe that

that is not a very fair observation on what I wrote

NO ONE has only God and Jesus but not the Holy Spirit

Its sad some people think they need some sign to be sure.
Rumor is thats what was said downstairs at pentecost.
You go to the ground downstairs and hang with the chickens,or go higher as Jesus leads to the upper realm of the upper room and fly with the eagles.

Downstairs is sad religion.
Upstairs is the realm of God.
LIFE IN THE SPIRIT.
Its like a couple of bodysurfers sitting on a beach watching the pro's shoot the tunnel of a 20 ft wave and saying "it's just sad how they need those props ,we are the real surfers"
Too funny
