The measure is the word variation from the Original Text in the Hebrew and Greek. The American Standard and the KJV . Have the shortest bars on that graph. The text of American Standard is based on a newer group of manuscripts from known as the Codex Alexandrinus however the KJV is based on the older text from the majority of texts Textus Receptus. These two versions are the closet to the original writings ( autographs) with the least word variation, with a nod to the KJV for the majority of manuscripts. Also there is no equal to the KJV for cohesiveness and cadence and flow in reading. I recommend using one version and it is the closet . Use one version for your relationship with the Lord. Stuff yourself with the Word of God keep it in close contact with your soul that you might me washed by the renewing regeneration of the Bible . Be transformed by the renewing of your mind , I may be preaching to the choir but give the Holy Spirit something to bring to your remembrance and stick with one version . Using the others for comparison is appropriate . I love my KJV after all it is the one that Paul used. ( just kidding)

I would like to know your thoughts about the KJV in relation to what is being said below.
I agree with some of these points but on others the author hasn't done his/her homework; or is deliberately ignoring all the available evidence.

The King James version of the bible can be used with a Strong's Concordance to look up the meaning of words in the Hebrew or Greek dictionary for yourself and give you a better understanding of how the word is used. I recommend the KJV.

Strong's will help you understand the meanings of words as used in the KJV. It does not necessarily help with understanding the words in modern usage.

The KJV was current in 1611; it is no longer current and hasn't been for a couple of centuries. While it is still a useful translation, one must sift through the archaic language to find the meaning at times.

Use the KJV . Bite the bullet in your wanting it to be your current English. It is closet to the original manuscripts. Or go with the American Standard. Here is the deal . Give the Holy Spirit something to work with .Stay in one version . So when the Holy Spirit brings the things of the spirit of God to your mind you recognize it . Stick with one main version. Of course God is not speaking to you in King James English. It is the revelation of God to man. The entire book is as Jesus said, " My words are spirit and they are life". You need to grab the principle of the supernatural value of cooperating with the Holy Spirits work in your personal regeneration. You are given your eternal identity spelled out in the Word. " Priest in a kingdom of priests, called to be saints, ambassadors for Christ . etc. You are transformed by the renewing of your mind. by the washing of water by the word. Get the drift , you are to cooperate with the Holy Spirit and keep the Word of God close and intimate to your soul . The less variance from the original autographs the better , His words are Spirit and they are life. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to regenerate you , tune you up to those eternal spiritual things. Stay away from watered down versions . Seek a relationship with The Lord in Spirit and in truth. Shun the wisdom and high mindedness of man. Close the Gap between you and Christ . Come boldly to the throne of Grace by the precious Blood and be renewed in the spirit of your mind. We are made partakers of the divine nature by " exceeding great and precious promises". Don't make me come over there.

No thanks. I have several better translations available to me.

Bite the bullet in your wanting it to be your current English.
The same could be said to those wanting the Word in their own language. I hope that would not be your response.

It is closet to the original manuscripts.
That doesn't comport with the evidence. It is close to some of the manuscripts: those used in the preparation of the texts used as the source material for the KJV.

Give the Holy Spirit something to work with .Stay in one version . So when the Holy Spirit brings the things of the spirit of God to your mind you recognize it .
The Holy Spirit is not so limited. He can use anything you have remembered... or not remembered, from any translation, in any language.

Of course God is not speaking to you in King James English.
Exactly. If you grew up reading the KJV, you'll remember His word in the KJV. If you didn't, you won't. It's not that difficult a concept. ;)
