The "anything" must be taken in context with vs. 12.
In other words, the "anything" is referring to the spiritual "anything" in relation to the work He spoke of in vs. 12.
It's not speaking of anything you desire, but what is needed for the work.

"You may ask anything within the Will of God and I will grant it."
If that's the case, then how do we know what the Will of God is?
Romans 12:2 NLT - "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."
And this is why I say that the entire Bible revolves around Colossians 2:9-15, because it is through the Circumcision of Christ that we are Transformed, thus able to know the Will of God.
