Do you seriously think God didn't fully inform the person upon whom the future of the human race depended about his and mankind's redemption?
how much of the gospel can you intuit from 'he will bruise His heel, but He will crush his head'?

Ephesians 3:8-9
To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ

It doesn't account for the existence of giants, mighty men, or men of renown being the offspring of such unions. Your "reasonable and sensible" may work for you but it's not a convincing argument for me.
It is believed that because of the accounts passed down to future generations leaving the ark, that men developed myths about Hercules and Neptune, etc., the gods of pagan thinking.

The mythes had an origin.

in Luke 29:26-32, Jesus puts the situation at the time of the flood together with the situation in Sodom, which was also utterly destroyed

there were not racially or religiously mixed marriages going on in Sodom, at least not worthy of mention, but the entire city was ready to attack the nephew of the most powerful man in the entire region in order to get their hands on two angels...

that Genesis 6 means what it says, angels taking human women and producing offspring, is the only explanation that fits scripture.
The part I have bolded above: is that an assumption? And are you not also assuming the men of Sodom knew Lot's visitors were angels?

I have always believed this to be the case.

Genesis 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

However I have come to doubt this theory now as i've actually read the book of Enoch and it contradicts the Bible in some details, not to mention just doesn't "sound right" Doesn't sound like its from the spirit of God. I can discern that its not. You may disagree thats fine but that is where we must agree to disagree.

Jesus says: Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

How could angels coming down and fornicating with women work if this is the case?

Is there any credible alternative explanation? In the OT, "sons of God" most often means angels, doesn't it?

it is an assumption based on there being no mention of it in the narrative, so, God not considering it something necessary for us to know, IOW, if it did happen, it wasn't significant to what happened to Sodom.

about the angels, it does seem from the narrative that Lot had a habit of trying to save strangers who entered the city from being abused, harboring them in his house. and it also seems like the entire city did not surround his house threatening to attack it every time he did this - so, they seem particularly interested in these visitors.

both of these are circumantial things that don't prove anything about Genesis 6, but they are corrobirative of the angelic/human mixed view, and not corrobirative of the racial or religious mixed views.

lol you have it backwards. You grew up with TV/movies that pushed this kind of stuff constantly, so belief in it comes naturally to you. It's the worldly mind at work
So you haven't watched movies in your entire life? Have you watched TV in your adult life?
So you believed angels mated human women because you watched tv? And the bible proved you wrong?

You should have stopped at, they don't prove anything. ;):D

well then why do you believe God has not destroyed the entire world again for Christians marrying non Christians, or Jews marrying non Jews, and that Christians/believers or even true Israel are a physically hereditary group?

because that has continued to happen
Every
Day
Of
Every
Year
For thousands of years

... But only once has sin been so great, that God wiped out all living souls on earth, save 8

Sorry mate, i respect you a lot but your view here holds zero water.

I knew a Christian who deliberately married and unbeliever so he and she could start breeding basketball players...
