My question, "Do you know why?" was in relation to not recommending the RCC more so than Lutheran or Anglican. Though it is true that neither Lutheran nor Anglican appealed to me, especially in their similarities to Catholicism. Are you a new Christian? Please excuse me asking; this is a Protestant run site and it is likely that the majority of members are protestants who view Catholicism as heretical. Hence not recommending it. I would certainly recommend going to church. I myself went to many churches in my early years, and multiple churches at a time. If they are Bible believing, Bible teaching, and feed your hunger for the Word, as well as meeting other needs you may not have even known you had, that would definitely be a church worth sticking around and calling home.

All three are fairly close in their beliefs and practices, although the Anglican church at one time was more of a Reformation Church and had an evangelistic branch. Today the mainline denominations have seriously departed from the Bible, and failed to preach the true Gospel and teach Bible truth.
Therefore you should seek out a "Bible" church which preaches the true Gospel and follows the New Testament closely and stands solely on the Word of God. This is easier said than done but not impossible. It may even mean traveling some distance to worship and fellowship with like-minded believers. However if you are a well-grounded mature Christian, you can start a home church and go from there. Home churches are good up to a point but once the numbers increase, people need to find a place in which to gather.
