Jesus met none of these criteria.
1. Social isolation. If you are seeing less and less of your family and peers in favor of your new best friends, ask yourself why.
Sometimes becoming a Christian can cause breaks in families, and you find new friends.
2. Cyber isolation. If all your Facebook friends agree with you, ask yourself why.
God wants us all to believe the same thing, that there be no division among us.
3. Promised rewards. If you find that you’re on the verge of amazing accomplishments or the fulfillment of your wildest dreams, ask yourself why.
1 Cor 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
2 Pet 1:11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
4. Phobia indoctrination. If you find that you have a lot of new fears, ask yourself why.
This one does not apply..
5. Heightened emotion. If you find yourself feeling extremely happy, angry, or scared, ask yourself why.
I am very blessed, happy, and joyful to be a Christian. Shouldn't we all be?
6. Love-bombing. If you find yourself feeling more loved than you ever have in your life, ask yourself why.
This one kind of speaks for itself, no? Jesus Christ certainly loves us, and we are to love one another.
7. Us vs. them mentality. If you find that you have a lot of enemies all of a sudden, ask yourself why.
Christians have enemies...
8. Social influence. If you find that everyone around you agrees on something, ask yourself why.
Again, God wants us all to believe the same thing, that there be no division among us.
9. Intelligence-dampening. If you find yourself too tired or confused to make decisions, ask yourself why.
This one does not apply.
10. Identity disturbance. If you feel like a new you–a better you–ask yourself why.
2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man
be in Christ,
he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
