Isn't a field made up of Earth? Doesn't the Earth have fields? I don't see a significant difference between the two. Wild animals dwell in fields too you know. It doesn't have the definition of "farming field" as in a human worked part of land. I'm afraid the Hebrew isn't going to support you here.[/QUOTE
Psa 50:11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

This is evidence that field (H7704) does not have the meaning of land where only domesticated animals are since this speaks of wild beasts of the field.

Two different words but not evidence for what you were hoping to prove. One does not only mean land for wild animals and the other does not only mean land for domesticated animals.
Genesis chp 4
14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth;

Was Cain driven from the face of the earth?

16
And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.

what?...we aren't discussing that. You suggested the Hebrew words for Earth and field meant wild animals VS. domesticated but the Hebrew words don't support that claim. One basically means Earth (any particular part) and the other means a flat area of Earth but wild animals can be there as I showed.

aren't the other living souls also made with bodies of dust and the breath of Life?

Ok. Fair enough, however it does tie in…
Tell me; on what day did God create animals?

Are fallen angels souls? Did they not come to earth and impregnate the daughters of Adam without being born through the flesh?
That's an interesting question.
I am not aware of the word nephesh ever being used to describe an angel - but I don't have the resources to search atm

What i meant tho as to comment on what you pointed out about the trees 'raised up from the ground'
-- if we are to understand "trees" means Satan and Christ because they werent created from dust, but means trees when it states they were raised up from the ground, i think it would be consistent to understand them as the living souls because we were all created from dust + Breath of Life, hence, "ground"

still i think more consistent to accept trees as trees and acknowledge that there is allegorical symbolism in the literal events.

I went to page one for an attempt to catch up but see that it had quickly become a debate about sabbath keeping... perhaps we should just start all over again, here.

I heard it presented in a way that I perceived to be a reasonable summary. The ten died (or fell asleep), five with oil and five without, and when the resurrection came, there was no more opportunity to buy.

the "five," I suppose, in regard to either group, is representative of the grace each group is afforded...

oh wait, the thread is about what it does not mean... my apologies... :giggle:

That doesn't work because the 5 foolish also woke up. In the parable sleeping is just sleeping because it's night time.

When they woke up, they found the door to be shut. So, that would still fit, since the 5 wise woke when the door was open.
