When i was 8 years I was told my little 6 year old brother was dying and they could do nothing to save him. He loved the Lord very much and was prepared to die but i could not let him go. I prayed take me not him or heal him if it be thy will. My brother was dying of a brain tumor attached to the top of the brain stem. My family did not deal with the illness as a family and after he died we did not deal with the death as a family. He died a month before my 10th birthday. Some people from the church came out and said someone in the family sinned so bad that is why God did not heal him, from that point on i knew i did not want to be a christian and that is what lead me down the path of destruction and drug addiction. I can't change the past I can only look to the future and am thankful that God has forgiven me.

before i was rescued i was told many things by Christians in a way that made me think God hated me , now i see it all in a different light , i know now nothing that i was told about God touched my heart because it lacked LOVE , understanding . one day , to see myself free from all that judgement and lack of understanding from people i decided God didn't exist , it was a dreadful thing to (not) believe , then i was turning into someone i wish i didn't but God understood me and rescued me , He knows all things and our hearts

Don't feel bad buddy. One day my friend went to a Baptist church to try it out and he accidentally farted the during sermon and it the preacher todl him he would lose 20 years off his life. The people are very misguided about God I believe. I would never think that he would not forgive anyone, that he would not love anyone, or that he would do something horrible to us. He's an amazing, invincible God with unfailing love!

Aww BUD!

Well there are weridos for all religions

@SpiritualFox- Please do not think ALL Baptists are like that. I am a Baptist and our church is nothing like that lol.

@Stop- I do not beleive that God holds himself from doing miracles because of sin of people. Everyone sins all the time no matter how hard we try so that would kinda be saying that God never does miracles which he does.
We will most likly never know nor deseve to know why these things happen. But maybe God was just testing faith?

there will always be wolves in sheep clothing. I'm sorry that they found you and said something so cruel and untrue when you were so young.

Do you remember the story about the child that was born dumb and what Jesus said when people asked Him who sinned his parents or him that he was born so afflicted?

I can't find the exact scripture and verse but i read it today in the Gospels. Perhaps someone else can locate the story...

Next time someone tries to drive you away from the church with such lies show them the scripture that makes clear their deception.

The church had never consisted of buildings of stone and hypocritical disbelieving people. Those are synagogues of Satan and do not belong to God. Many people WILL stand before the Lord and he will say to them,'' Go away I never knew you.'' My friend, get to know Jesus for himself, not to belong to some religious institution built on vanity and pride and money. The true church is not seen with the naked eye. It does not consist of pews and chapels. The true church is a spiritual building, not like these man-made kingdoms men call churches.

Um in case they or you didn't know, that was a joke I'm sure. Because many churches actually believe and say that, people will jokingly say it. Tell them to lighten up! As someone else said, don't think all Baptist are like that, because not all are. Not all of any denomination is the same. If for whatever reason the pastor did actually mean that, then I don't know what kind of crazy stuff they follow and teach, but I assure you it's not what Baptist follow, believe,or teach generally.

Yes, I know Baptists aren't all like that. But the preacher was quite seriously mad about it. I think because they interrupted his sermon by laughing at the fart. I used to be a Baptist and I never got told that so I know they aren't all like that. But there are churches out there full of people who are misguided. Westboro Baptist Church for example. But I would suggest maybe if you want, to look at other churches. Join other sermons. See what other people do and say. It's really neat to compare Baptists, Methodists, Pentecostals, and all that. I'd just say go out and view it all.
