er. why the doom and gloom?
I wonder if people think its mutually exclusive to have friends and a partner?
Wasnt Abraham called a friend of God? And isnt God eternal so he kinda had it all? Does having God for a friend mean you dont have any other friends? hmm
after all friendship with the world is enmity with God. I dont know if God is actually that possesive. Surely He wants us to have friends that also believe in Him too.

For someone to be a true partner they would need to be your best friend. Real friendship requires respect, communication and enjoying their company. Sometimes people forget these things when they talk about romantic love. The person is seen from the viewpoint of a shopper, rather than embraced as the person as they are. The love creates a home rather than insists on the standards of a show home. Real love must have all the aspects that make for enduring friendships. It is not enough to say that you are in love with someone. You must also like them, want their best and not see them only in terms of what you can get out of them. Please don't misunderstand me. Romantic love can paint the heart in the most beautiful colours but without the deeper commitment of friendship, the colours will fade.
I went with option C. Friends let you down and spouses have been known to let you down. Where ever God leads. Lately, it has been with very few friends, and no wife. Looking back at it, God is good!
I voted to go with having good friends rather than a single loving spouse. A loving spouse would be great, but I don't think I could tolerate seeing the same person and no one else ever again.

Interesting how its even, i agree, it all depending on the person, people have different tastes. Some like being surrounded by many, other like being alone, and that can break out into relationships the person has. If i was married then my wife would be my friend and the kids support systems and friends. That is the reason for my choice.
