What is something that was in your past that no longer exists? Maybe a food, game, product, or whatever. Something you may or may not miss.


Saturday morning cartoons and cereal. Those mornings where you could stay in your pj's with no expectations or places to go. Just relaxing. I miss those days and never took them for granted.

Does anybody really care?
So I can't imagine why
I don't have time enough to cry
 
Time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping
Into the future...
 
Okay serious. I can do serious. I think.

I miss ice cube chocolates. They were cheap, delicious and once upon a time you could find them on the counter in convenience stores.

I can still find them online, but it's just not the same as going to get gas and buying one on impulse.

I completely agree with you about Saturday morning cartoons -- I looked forward to them every week, and always felt sad when the last one ended at noon.

Along those same lines...

I miss 80's and 90's action movies where (some) actors had to actually perform their own moves and stunts.

I was sharing a clip of Jean Claude Van Damme doing his famous helicopter with a young friend and gushing about how incredible it was, but she was thoroughly unimpressed -- until I explained that there weren't any wires or green screen -- this was him actually doing those kicks himself.

I miss the days when performers actually had to have some kind of special talent that made them stand out.

I 100% agree. I love them old 80s movies. I guess they fall in the "block buster" category now ....... Be kind and rewind lol

Oh wow, you were that self-aware when you were young? God bless you!
I wasn't that self-aware but i did feel a sense of blessing when i compared myself to others but i definitely took everything for granted. I wasn't very grateful and i thought that this blessing was my "right".
I was basically a Calvinist before i knew what that meant.

I miss the Saturday morning cartoons.

I also miss being able to buy a 10 oz coke and a bag of chips with two quarters.

Sometimes I miss disco. 🤦

I miss customer service.
When you bought groceries, they bagged them and carried them to your car.
When you bought gas, they put it in, washed your windshield , checked your oil and only charged you 25 cents a gal.
No matter where you shopped, there were always people there to help you with a smile on their face.
I think I just showed everyone how old I am.

Oh yes, my parents had us aware of certain things at a young age. I was very aware if I said a bad word, I'd get soap......a used bar. I didn't mess up after that one time I tell ya lol.

That has always been an illusion. As Agent Kay said in the first Men In Black, there's always some imminent disaster that needs to be prevented. "The only way these people get on with their happy little lives is, they don't know about it."

That's nice.
My parents taught me that too but i wasn't very aware as i am now where i don't take anything for granted.
