I don't know the ages, I do know the brain isn't fully matured until close to 30, before that we men can say and do dumb stuff with ease.:giggle::giggle::giggle:

Oh....
The age for men's brain maturity is 50....however, it begins its degradation and descent back into childhood at 35.

Just food for thought.

Just some added thoughts:

I was thinking that "blessed are the brokenhearted was one of the Beatitudes' but a quick search revealed it is a from Psalm34:18, "The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." But realize I might've been thinking this because it occurred to me how we (in general) often rush into opportunities for another heartbreak, and sometimes I wonder if rushing inadvertently hoping for one. Realizing what your heart breaks for (there should be more bumper stickers) might give you an idea of how close the LORD actually is to it. For instance, I might seem obvious that your heart was broken for the cat and for yourself for having to 'relive' the tragedy, but did you totally miss the tragedy of the brother's loss of compassion? Considering compassion is a primary characteristic of the image of God, the brother came short of what we all (ideally) strive toward, the image of Christ. And that, imo, is heartbreaking.
