What does The Holy Spirit do? I have read that The Holy Spirit is the giver if life, gives guidance, gives us help of understanding Buble verses, what else does He do?
Well before Jesus ascended into the sky, he told his disciples that he would send them a comforter. He talks about the Holy Comforter in John chapter 16. In verse 13, He says "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of Truth, is come, he will guide you unto all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever she shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." The Holy Spirit is what separates us as followers of Christ from the rest of the world. The Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) are God. The fact Holy Spirit that abides in us serves as a reminder that our Lord 'sticks closer than a brother' and is always with us. There is also the matter of being dead to the flesh and yet alive to the spirit. I think that's what Jesus meant when He said we must be "born again." Not from out of our mothers womb, but cleansed with the Holy Spirit. So that we do not live for the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes or the pride of life.. but for our God who gave himself for us so that we might be saved. Have a blessed day -Jaime
