That sounds like about the best way to do it. Everyone I know already has too much stuff anyway, including me.

If I do get presents for people, they are usually consumables, something they can eat and then it will be gone and won't be cluttering up for the rest of their lives.

A digital piano and an online ear-training course which would fulfill a grandmother's wish for her non-musical grandson to be affiliated somehow with music. This is my forth instrument I have owned without the ability to play them. My third was one I bought for (her) myself, a nice chromatic harmonica. Now why someone such as myself, as much as I like music ended up fully tuneless and unable to blow, pluck or strike a key is a mystery. But, here I am approaching that wonderful golden era of life to finally give it that all.
