How can you know that your prayers reach God?
Does He only listen if you are passionate and REALLY mean it?
If God hear ALL prayers, does He also listen to the Jewish and Muslim prayers then?
Why should you pray when He already knows what you are thinking about?

Have you ever asked yourself these questions? Well I have, and this is really confusing to me. I try to pray to God everyday hoping I will get a better connection with Him somehow. My prayers are not very passionate. I'm thanking Him for food and my family stuff like that, but then again I don't feel passionate at all while doing these prayers. So these questions appear in my head.. and wondering if it is necessary for me to pray when my life already is alright?

What do you think?

God knows what we are going to pray before we even decide to pray in the first place. prayer isn't for God, its for us to use to strengthen our relationship with him.

:) PRAYER IS LIKE A PLUG. THERES A VERSE THAT SAYS, WHEN THE ENEMEY COMES IN LIKE A FLOOD, THE LORD WILL PUT UP A STANDARD. YOU KNOW THE POWER OF A WAVE, A FLOOD, THE BREAKS IN THE LEVI, THE METAL TOSSED ABOUT. THIS IS HOW THE POWERS OF DARKNESS CAN DESTROY A LIFE. PRAYER IS A RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST. WE PRAY TO THE FATHER THROUGH THE SON, AND ASK IN HIS NAME, LIKE IT SAYS IN THE BIBLE. AS FAR AS THE OTHER FAITHS, PRAYING, THE FATHER LOOKS UPON THE HEART. WE GO THROUGH THE BLOOD THE ATONEMENT FOR OUR SINS, IN REPENTANCE. NO PRAYER LIFE, IS NO CONNECTION.

Think about praying as simply having a conversation with a real 'being'. He's very real and very personal. You're just not going to hear His voice out loud. He communicates with us mainly through His Word. Are you reading and studying the Bible? This is a MUST if you desire a relationship with God.

Have you given your life to Christ and asked Him into your heart? The Spirit will then come into you and teach you what you desire to know.

Also, find Christian friends and a church to worship and learn in. And listen to praise songs.....these are wonderful ways to help your growing relationship with God :).

Yes, God already knows what you are going to pray before you even close your eyes, but the reason why we pray and say it aloud is to confirm it that we are greatful, that we really do want these or need these things
I use to ask myself those question too, but instead of me seeking from everyone else for there opinion I asked the Lord. I asked him why has my desire for you gone less and he answered my prayer through a preaching about how the devil's aim to destroy followers of Christ.. Yes, the devil cause issues and etc, but he also try and replace your desire to God for something worldly, would start trying to pile your plate up, so you can forget about spending time with God.The less time you spend time with God, the more blind you will get and you shouldn't only just think about your life now. It's also about after life, where are you heading ?. Life may be alright now, but that's only your physical life, what about your spiritual life ? Are you being real with God ? Are you hiding anything from God ? What's your first priority now ?
Now I talked to him like he is my best-friend, I pour out my heart out to him and everything that I had in me. Prayer isn't the only way to bring you closer to God, also READ his word. but that's if you want to know more

I wish I'd been this smart at 15!

prayer is a personal way of talking to God. put it this way. You have a friend and you are very eager to share your thoughts and everything that's going on in your life. Look at that! see how passionate you would become.

God bless you

I think prayer is for communicating with God and letting things off your chest. It's also for worship and telling him that you want to forever be his servant. I don't ask for things very often other than, "your will be done," because I don't see much a purpose in asking him for anything else. I usually pray for peace, courage, strength, wisdom, and patience. He will surely give you any of these when you ask him

I believe by faith that God hears my prayers.
If I understand what you mean, no your prayers do not have to be passionate to be heard. Sometimes I think that passion is fear. Prayers need only be honest. There are times when I'm so desperately confused that I have no words. All I can say is "Jesus". There is power in His name.
God hears everything. He doesn't have to respond to prayers not directed to Him like those from other religions. Although I believe in his mercy, he may respond to some
Prayer is about relationship. We have not because we ask not. We are told to ask. We have to seek in order to find. We have responsibility in this life to seek God out. Why should expect for Him to plop remedies into the laps of strangers?
