I just got over a cold by doubling up on Vitamin C supplements. Even better if you can buy organic.

Good post the human body lost the ability to produce vitamin C from glucose long time ago it's important to have a good intake of vitamin C![]()
If taken over time yes, not as a shock cure. ...and there is no proof it fights off coldsVitamin C boosts the immune system which in turn allows it to fight off the cold more easily.
Problem is: Science has found no proof that vitamin C cures a cold.
It MIGHT work as a "buffer" (if you eat vit C all the time, your immune system might work better)
How long did it take for this cold to disappear? Are you sure it didn't just end by itself?![]()
I never said it cured the cold. If it cured it I would never get a cold again. It helps fight it and all I can tell you is that it works for me. When I feel a cold coming on I drink a lot of OJ and it is usually gone in a few days or it never fully comes to a full blown cold.
Science isn't going to try and prove anything natural because they can't patent natural cures.
Interesting. Never heard that before. Please tell more. When was this "long time ago"?
Well, then I'm abnormal then (what I am saying, that's not news) , because no amount of oranges, orange juice or supplements ever helped for my colds.

All citrus fruits are excellent sources of Vitamin C. Oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit, to name a few.![]()
