Ladies, what are some of the unrealistic expectations you feel guys have had of you or other ladies?

Gentlemen, what are some of the unrealistic expectations you feel ladies have had of you or other guys?

I heard a guy once say he is looking for a chef who does part time modelling.
He liked food and wanted her to cook well and look good.

No girls have ever had unrealistic expectations of me. Being single is great.

I'm not sure, I don't know women good enough to know what expectations they have on me. I wonder if work counts. The women seem to think I can pick up anything and throw it away.

maybe some think I can actually be in two places at once? lol

Shapeshifter or maybe twin?

while women appear to multitask, actually we DO NOT have eight arms like an octopus/goddess lakshmi or whoever it is that has eight arms and hands. We only have two. Just like men do.

@TabinRivCA I sent you a PM of some picture examples of what I'm talking about.

@Seeking-Christ wow:eek: that's like tons of stuff. My first thought would be to take fairly good things to the poor or have a giant yard sale, lol. A good thing to remember is to do all things as unto the Lord, it's admirable you taking this 'duty/work' on.

The OP of this question was Julliana about 10 yrs ago btw.

O/T I really like your profile pic, every time I see it I keep thinking of Joseph and his technicolour dreamcoat.
To answer you question, its mostly an expectation to look or act a certain way eg what they see on tiktok and think is normal.

whaaat is that not real!? it looks so believable!! the puppy one was cute when it first came out.

Most of the time, when I start a conversation with a woman, it seems like she wants me to always come up with the topic, and keep it interesting.

I briefly dated a Christian woman back in early 2011 who wanted to stop dating me after three dates. Her reasons? I wasn't tall enough or wealthy enough (earning >$100,000/year). I was taller than her, but that wasn't enough.

She was pretty, but far from perfect, certainly not being capable of offering a man the things that she was expecting.

w... wow...

I remember a guy on the bus one night (going back to the 80s) who was talking loudly enough for everyone around him to hear... He was rapping to this lady and told her that he only dates really good-looking girls. She seemed quite unimpressed, and I did not blame her. He was arrogant, maybe a tad creepy, and hardly Bond-esque -- James being the kind of man who could be so demanding.

The only honest answer that I can give here is that I really only focus upon what God's expectations are of me as a man, and I truly try to fulfill the same by his grace.

How has that carried over towards women?

In all honesty, I'd have to say that at least 90 something percent of the women I've personally met (I obviously cannot speak for other men or their experiences) haven't liked me because of my godly character which includes such things as faithfulness, selflessness, and definitely thoughtfulness. I know that that sounds crazy, especially since so many women claim to be looking for such qualities/attributes in a man, but that's truly been my own experience. I've mentioned this before on this forum, but the day that I proposed to my now ex-wife, she told me "I just want you to know that I'd never want to marry a man like you", and then she explained why. She literally told me that she'd never want to marry a man like me because she knew that I'd always want to do that which is right.

Think about that for a minute.

She then went on to accept my marriage proposal, and the rest?

Well, I've given detailed descriptions of the same enough times here in the past.

My own observations have shown me that many women aren't really after what they claim to be after.

That's about all that I've got to contribute here.

I had the unrealistic idea that all men were taught how to be gentlemen until I got married and he was far from it. He had the unrealistic idea I would put up with his narcissism forever. Oh and thought by now I would be a millionaire just saying, lol!

Well I hope you didn't give up so easily, I would think there's gals around that would enjoy your company. Just don't morph into monster mode, lol.

I have never expected a man to be rich. But dropped one because he quit his job and thought he was going to live off me. He actually had packed his things and brought them to my house.

Yep sometimes we ask for it by marrying someone we think is a challenge or we can 'help'. I married my second husband because I felt sorry for him and I would say it was a disaster except for a beautiful daughter and he wound up getting saved.
So God can take all things and turn them for good, but wisdom can help skip over a bunch of red tape,

My own observations have shown me that many women aren't really after what they claim to be after.

Yep, sometimes we ask for it by marrying someone we think we can help, but that's really not what a marriage is about. Equally yoked is great advise from the One who created us. I married my second

I am totally convinced all junior and high schools need to have a marriage/occupation/goal class of some sort. How many jump into marriage without realizing the true idea of it...a lot, lol. I'm glad you recovered and are blessed!
