So I went on ChristianChat.net to ask a question about baptism and many people were giving me answers that seemed 50/50, and that was just giving me a headache. I know that you need to have a a bit faith and understanding in the lord before you can be baptized. I was baptized as a little kid in a catholic church (Grew up as a christian and still am one )and didn't really know what I was doing. People told me that others used to practice infant baptism thinking that it would save their children and it didn't. (Did they go to hell!?) Then they brought up a scripture that said kids automatically went to Heaven...but wait they told me they weren't saved.

So does that mean i'm not saved? Well, what they told me is that if you believe that Jesus died for your sins and risen on the 3rd day that you were saved. THEN, they told me it isn't an option if you want to get baptized or not, you have to do it with more understanding in order to be fully born-again. That is what stumped me. Have I not really been saved at all because I was baptized a kid with little or no understanding of why I was? I barely have access to a Church to even be baptised. So I guess I won't be saved until I do get baptised, right? Ugh, i'm so confused.

P.S: I'm sorry I just keep on asking question after question. It is just that I don't really have anyone to talk to and the youth group I was in awhile back disbanded and I don't know of any anymore.

Catholic "saved" is different from what many mean by it here. The issue is what do you want of God. Any church can (and almost all will) tell you Jesus died for your sins so you can get to heaven. Some churches teach knowing it is enough if you play be their rules, too. I do not agree with that, and I think I speak for most here.

Best recommendation: I can tell you want Jesus, or you wouldn't be asking this. Just tell Jesus you want Him to be your Lord, personally, whether you ever go to any church again or not. Tell Him you want to leave your sins behind, never want to sin again, and that you want to follow Him as your Lord. Then, every church agrees you will be "saved". Then, you have to act like you mean it: study the Scriptures, do what Jesus wants you to do. Try to learn more about what that is. [I just stopped to read your bio; you may have already done this. So this in case you have not.]

About Catholic baptism. My wife was baptized Catholic, and after she got saved, the non-denom church said that did not count. They wanted to dunk her. She took it to prayer, and God told her to do nothing. Then, she went to an outdoor convention with 30,000 people screaming for love of God. It rained. It rained so much they prayed and stopped the rain (the big hole in the clouds over the stadium was written up in the papers). But not before my wife got soaked and God said "I just baptized you my way". My wife had a ministry for the last almost 30 years of her life of uniting the denominations. She was told never to join a church again. So there's a lot more to this Baptism issue than who gets to pour the water over your head. It's not about what we argue about, but what we agree about that matters - and that's Jesus and Him crucified, and what His grace can do in your life.

Thing is, I keep on asking and I feel as if I am never receiving. I just looked it up again and I found out that you must be baptized in order to be saved. Like I said, as a kid I was but apparently that doesn't count because I didn't have understanding and I hardly have access to any church and to be completely and utterly honest I feel as if I am not getting any help. I want Jesus but I feel like I am not getting anything. I pray for good things such as fighting inside the house to stop and things still happen. And the thought about my other family members not being religious is just making me start to worry about them. I'm seriously started to just give up and call out. It sounds silly but, this is just too hard for me.

Well, you were baptized. You just feel like something is wrong, right? Access to other Christians is vitally important. You don't have a church, but you have this website. God will make this do until you can find a good church. You do need Christian fellowship. We all do. That's one of the reasons we all come here.

First, feelings don't count. Christians live by faith. You are praying, God is working. People make choices. The people fighting in the house make a choice to fight. God does not overwhelm people's choices. He likes for people to love Him, and if He makes them submit to His power, they are not loving Him, but being s cared of Him. So, He likes to wait, and try to woo them, to show them His goodness. Your prayer is making that happen, but it takes time. At your age, it's hard to see the future. There is so much God wants to give you yourself yet. There will come a time when God may have you talk to the people about the fighting. Maybe that time isn't yet, I don't know. The first thing is to get you strong in your relationship with Christ.

The reason I told you my wife's story is so you can stop worrying that you are doing something wrong. It looks to me like you are doing everything as right as you can be. Keep praying, keep reading the Bible, keep talking to other Christians like you are doing here, find a church if you can. And trust God, not feelings.
