** Thirst **
I am like a desert that can never be quenched
When I think of you
When I miss you
I retreat inside a space
deep inside
I know you've found your place
in the arms of another
and part of me is happy for you
but the rest of me dies a little at each thought
longing to be satisfied
a longing to be filled
Drinking from this shallow puddle
will no longer due
I need to submerge
I need to drink from the wellspring unyielding
I still think of you
I still miss you
but now this space is filled
deep inside
held tight in the arms of another
One who shall never let me go thirsty again.
