So my browser Chrome did an update and I had the site set to where the background was darker and didn't hurt my eyes but now suddenly the background is white and it stings my eyes does anyone know how to fix this? I already have Chrome set to dark mode but it isn't doing it for the site itself

"Settings" ?

If you had it set before I trust you will be able to do so again, I will look.

To darken the background of websites in Google Chrome on Android, you can use an experimental feature that forces all web content to appear in a dark theme. This feature is accessible through Chrome's flags settings. First, open Chrome and type chrome://flags into the address bar. Search for the flag labeled "Darken websites checkbox in theme setting" and set it to "Enabled". After relaunching Chrome, go to Settings > Theme. If you have selected "System default" or "Dark" as your theme, you will now see an option labeled "Darken websites". Enable this option to apply a dark theme to all websites, regardless of their original design. This feature is particularly useful for reducing eye strain in low-light environments and can help extend battery life on devices with OLED screens. Note that this is an experimental feature, and results may vary across different websites.

Yeah I did it before but no matter what I try I cannot seem to get it to do it again I turned on dark mode and I still cannot get cc to darken. however I just tried my other browser firefox and it has cc set to dark mode so luckily I I am able to see just fine the only issue with firefox is that it tends to lag a lot but it is a small price to pray in order to be on cc

I am familiar with Jaws but there is Chrome Vox which I did not use, but did read feedback by the blind/low vision community back when I worked in that field and I think it was generally pretty good.

Have you heard of it?

No I don't right now, let me look.
A while back we had an issue where a different browser worked when another one would not.
I'll try looking for help for sight impaired.
bless you brother

Microsoft has Narrator, I did use it a bit to see how it compared to JAWS, not as robust but it may work for you, have you tried it?
Never tried it but I was able to find one once I did a google search for it the only thing is it narrates in an annoying robot voice but still it is better than nothing

They may have different voices now, the software specifically for the blind/low vision has certainly made improvements in that area.
Yes the students I worked with complained about this all the time!

Yeah the robot voice is pretty bad I may see if there are any other ones to use because honestly it really isn't worth it listening to that annoying robot tone.
I imagine there are not very many good free ones out there but surely there is one with a little better quality
