A powerful film that had a profound effect on my personal faith growth. Its a harrowing film to watch, and yet it should be seen once, to give any Christian a sample (not the entirety) of what Jesus Our Lord went through in His Passion.
It is amazing it uses the Old Aramaic, Koine Greek, and Latin. When I watch it, I do not even notice I am reading subtitles, and some of scenes should have qualified it for an Oscar because of how beautifully they are shot.
There is some Roman Catholic ideas, no doubt because Mel Gibson is a Sedevacantist Catholic (believes there has been no true pope on the seat of St. Peter since Pius XII, see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedevacantism). But I did not feel the film was inaccessible to all Christians. It is powerful and haunting, and many became saved by watching it, and if that is the fruit, then it is worthy.
