Is anyone watching the Leftovers on HBO?

Its about how society might behave after experiencing a rapture, 1-2% of the population disappearing "unexplicably".

Its by the producers of "Lost" I think... Its only 3 episodes in and a little hard to follow but each episode gets better and better.

The last episode was about a pastor who was trying to save his church and prove that what had happened couldn't have been a rapture. The people weren't good enough to have been raptured...

There is nothing on TV except mindless drivel. That is why I had my cable shut off about 4 years ago--too many duplicate channels all playing the same program at the same time!!! Plus out of about 400 channels, there were only 3-4 that I actually watched. Now I no longer pay $200 a month, and I'm entirely happy with not watching tv!! :)

Sorry Grandpa - like Blue Ladybug I too have been without tv for about 4 years just to expensive for no real content. So I have never seen this show you are talking about.

I haven't watched The Leftovers but the trailer was very interesting and I'm keen to check it out sometime. No, I don't believe in the rapture, but this sort of story brings out interesting discussions on faith and the nature of faith etc.

I know just what you mean.

That's why when there is something on tv that piques my interest it is a major event.

Everyone has their own idea of what the rapture might be or whether there will be one or not.

It is interesting that "mainstream" tv is starting to think about it as well. To me, anyway...

True. And the series is by one half of the main writers of LOST. That there intrigues me. I know LOST wasn't without its flaws but there are few, if any TV series, that have touched me as much as it did.
