Read 1 Genesis 3.

Genesis 3 tells us about the terrible consequences of man's disobedience to God's most simple command. "Don't eat the fruit of the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Eve was deceived by the devil's lies. She was also not clear on what God actually said - she added "Don't touch" to God's "Don't each". Plainly she was not ignorant of God's prohibition.

Adam was not deceived. The Bible does not say, but I believe that there was much more to the devil's temptation. We remember the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness. Did Satan paint a picture of what man could be if he chose to obey Satan? We will know for sure one day.

We do see the terrible consequences of Adam's disobedience. First, the fallen couple realised that they were naked. Before, they were like very young children, unaware of themselves. Second, they were ashamed and tried to hide from God. That is the physical response

Thirdly, they sought to dodge responsibility. Eve blamed the Serpent, Adam blamed Eve, and, indirectly, God Himself - "The woman you gave me...." This set the pattern of humanity right up until now. There are, as far as I know, no people who are evil in their own estimation. When asked, everyone generally will say that they are basically good. I'm 74 and yet to find anyone who admits to being evil. That's why the Holy Spirit must convict the world of its sin (John 16:8).

The fourth consequence was tragic but inevitable. The disobedient pair were evicted from Eden. Their attempt to cover up themselves was useless. God stepped in to help them survive in a newly hostile world.

People still refuse to take responsibility for their sin. One of the most common questions unbelievers ask is why God allows evil in the world. My response is that God would have to kill everyone in order to remove evil. At times I say, "Starting with you."

We also see the beginnings of God's mercy and grace toward His creation. That is amazing. Why would God do such a thing? Could He not have allowed Adam and Eve to not procreate and let them die? Then He could have created a new couple to do what Adam and Eve failed to do. Well, in a very real way God did exactly that. I will explain this in another post.

Quite, interesting
I see, the trickery the Serpent did to Adam and Eve. You do realize, that Adam was there with her, when she ate from the tree
Regardless those two as one, failed and ate from the tree. Only yo be God themselves
Think, please, the serpent was there to get them bothy to be independent from God's lead
To become as God, is what that serpent said to Eve, and Adam heard this being right there also
So, eating from that tree, being made aware of right and wrong, gave them each the power to be God
Read Psalm 82
Now, I conjecture Evil, wanted to be God and for Adam and Eve to depend on Evil (Satan)
Yet that did nor happen, Man became dependent on self and other flesh. Which IMOP pissed off Evil, who thought Evil could be God, yet all went amiss and Satan evil could not control everyone under itself. Man's free choice in the way. God let this go and go on and still lets us all choose for ourselves.
I see through experiences, for me to only trust God and learn new from God in the same love and mercy given me through Son first.
Free to do right, by free choice to do and be new. Not a have too. Read Ephesians 2 and 3 thank you

I see through experiences, for me to only trust God

Amen to this..
Experience mangled me like a bear, definitely didn't need that
It was written in a (The) book, all I had to do was listen & obey..

You are partly right. However, the world system is controlled by the devil (1 John 5:19). Humanity is Satan's puppet. What was the second sin? Murder. And Satan is the murderer from the beginning (john 8:44). It was he who incited Cain to kill his brother.

yet, Satan defeated at the resurrected Christ. And Satan does not have control of everyone, even the unbelievers in risen Son. The flesh is out of sync. There are those that choose or chose to not believe in either Satan or God. Satan wanted control and got it in Adam and Eve, therefore all flesh is dead to God. God sent Son to save our Souls, not our flesh. So reckon self dead to flesh Romans 6:1-12 to b e alive to God over it all
Thanks and love what you have said, deep truth. Yo sat Satan has this control, controls people in thought to keep them lost in the risne Son Jesus for them to stand in

I find this fascinating, Adam and Eve had Torah with only one commandment, don't eat from that tree. They failed.

How much more difficult is it for us that have ten, or maybe even 613?

I think we might need a savior!

We do, yet how can one know they do? Go through tragedies, that are not caused by God. yet turn to God, wanting to be accepted, and today through Son's done work we are accepted and forgiven and sealed to know truth (Ephesians 1:6,7,13), only if one will continue to seek it out. The tree they Ate from was to become God themselves (Independency), and today evil sees its own failure. Evil, thought it would be in charge and yet saw, not all will become dependent on evil, some on self, and some care less and many turn to God and see this love offered them, and then make the right choices. Yet Evil is promoted to this day by commands (Sin takes occasion by the command to not sin)
God promotes love through free loving to God in response to being free to choose, to me anyways. For me it is not of self or anyone else, but the creator, God himself in Son hisself
Risen where the new life of love to all begins, sealed to see it and stand in belief Phil 1:6

There are people out there that do confess that they are not good people.

I have heard a few old people apologizing for their past behavior.

I don't think it is a common behavior but it does happen.

Most people are judgmental of others.

That statement of yours was harsh.

We are all in the same boat and we all need the grace of our Lord.

Thoroughly enjoyed the read thanks for sharing .

“Did Satan paint a picture of what man could be if he chose to obey Satan? We will know for sure one day.”

“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

You won’t die like God said …..He knows if you eat it , your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods knowing good and evil .

That statement of yours was harsh.

It was realistic. There is no one good - and that's not my opinion, that's God's word. I only say that to those who wonder why God tolerates evil. Naturally, they self exclude.

Most people are vaguely aware that they are not perfect. Some older people will admit to folly in their youth. Usually, they excuse themselves.

Some people need to be told the truth - that's the starting point for the gospel. Only sinners can be saved, that's also in the Bible. Unless someone sees that they are a sinner, they will not be saved.

I’ve heard people say, “ why did God create a world full of wars, evil, and suffering? If He is good, why doesn’t He do something about it?

God did not create a world full of wars, evil, and suffering. When God created the world it was perfect and did not have any of those things. God also created perfect, sinless people. God created the kind of world we ALL would love to inhabit. He has already shown that He is powerful enough to do that. He doesn’t have to prove His power or love for mankind.

Adam and Eve lived in a perfect world; without sin, evil, and suffering. But they CHOSE to know evil. Remember the fruit of the tree they were not to eat? Its name was the tree of knowledge of …evil. They already knew “good”; they just did not know “evil”. They had never seen “evil”; they had never experienced “evil.”—things necessary to “know” evil. Satan appealed to Eve’s pride; it was a fruit to make one “wise” and “you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Then she looked at the fruit and it looked “good to eat”. Lust of the eye and lust of the flesh. 1 John 2:16.

When Adam and Eve ”chose” to know evil, the devil is the one who filled the world with wars, evil, and suffering. He is the source of it all. It certainly was not God’s fault. Once the world was full of evil, it has to remain that way until it is finally destroyed at the end of time. It’s a little late to ask God to take it away now.

But the GOOD NEWS is that God HAS done something about it. He has given us “hope”, a chance to escape the evil and sin of this world—a way out! It’s the ONLY way out and it’s through his Son. We can go to another world that is “perfect”, like this world was at first; a world without any wars, evil, or suffering. God will re-instate us in that perfect world—again. And He will even give us the “tree of life” again. Man refused God’s perfect world the first time—don’t refuse him again.
