.... You know, for those lazy days when you buy a frozen pizza, or make soup from powder, or other partially prepared food... or just throw together something in a hurry and want it to be tasty but not spend ages on it.

Add spice / herbs!
If it has cheese on it: Add some more.
If it contains tomato: Adding a tiny bit of sugar takes the edge off the tomato taste.
Add cream, yogurt or crème fraîche to soups for a more creamy taste
(Can also help reduce tomato taste or make it less spicy if you get over- eager wit the spice. Crème fraîche is similar to sour cream, but it won't clot when heated)
For mashed potatoes: In addition to butter and salt: Add an egg at the end, it makes it fluffy. Also add cheese if you like
(Hardly healthy, but oh so yummy!)
If you boil red meat for a stew, try boiling it in beer.

Here is one of the sauces I have made for Meatloaf. I use it as a topping for 2 Meatloaf's'

6 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar or red wine vinegar
6 Tablespoons dark brown sugar
6 Tablespoons homemade maple syrup
1 12 oz. can of tomato paste
