I'm suppose to be studying right now for a major biology exam but I've studied all day and my brain is mush so I've decided to leave a lovely thread for you wonderful people :D how is everyone tonight???

Lol, what are you thinking?? These boards are dead =P

But anyway, I remember back when I had biology. The only test I studied for was the "lab test.' We had spent months dissecting-

An earth worm
A mussel (clam thingy)
A frog (the "big one" lol).

The test was 200 points. 40 was from scientific names of different organisms that we had to memorize, 40 were from the earth worm/mussel (parts we had to identify), and then 120 were from the frog (veins, muscles, and organs).

This probably wouldn't be TOO difficult (even though I think sciency names are insane), but our teacher was horrible. When dissecting stuff, he never showed us the parts- He gave us a chart and said "identify it," and if we got it wrong he wouldn't tell us what the right organ/muscle/ect. was. He would wait until one group got it right, then move on.

Needless to say, I did horribly on this test. I made a 144 C I believe. Fortunately, he decided to grave it on a curve, and I ended up with a 90 A, ftw!

well..umm...what does it matter what he grades you..you know he isn't God...

I would have a hard time dissecting into anything..(aliens included)..just for the sake of science and curiousity...

too many animals get used for testing...and they are not the same as humans..

do mice in and lab rats really tell a tail..of how some medicines will work on HUMANS??

oh well..as you can see I have very little faith in the scientific wayz of much of this world...

some herbal medicines..that were produced by the hand of God..are good..and I appreciate the .."healers" who have the knowledge and wisdom..of Gods medicines...

now..the pharma companies??? don't get me started on their" greed and corruption"...I'll save it for another thread...

^^Ehhhh, you shouldn't distrust science TOO much. Some of it's really useful and accurate, while some of it is entirely bogus. As far as testing stuff on mice, it's hit-and-miss. Sometimes it affects us similarly because certain parts of us work the same way, and sometimes it's a radically different effect. However, it's "hit" often enough to justify using the rats =P

And it's not like they're cruelly treated and starved and stuff. Well, at least not often.

Be careful with everything that can't be tested solidly, and is based on a large amount of assumptions, though *coughebolitioncough*.
