So my earth science teacher nd my world civilization teacher are tryn to tell me tht we evolvd from monkeys! nd when i tryd to defend my beliefs nd bring up tha bible they got mad nd i gt kickd outta class! ne1 else nt agree wit tht or is it jus me?

I doubt he said "monkeys". In all likelyhood he has said, "Ape-Like Creatures".

However, I do not believe it myself.

Hannah, textbook teaching is fundamentalist system teaching from day one.
It is to question! I start to question those teachings rather late.
My advice. Question everything and grow up in doing this as an independent person!
Jesus is Lord. He is one with God an Father and the Holy Spirit.
He is jealous who you love first, cause he gave everything for you!

This is typical in schools. Public schools have become quite anti-religion, especially Christianity and the bible.

I go to a christian school so i never have to deal with atheists and god-haters or evolutionists buh if you need some encouragement being that your in such a miserable situation and i can offer a few words of sheer unaffected logic:
1. It actually takes more faith to believe in evolutionism than in creationism. Why? Evolution is like a jig-saw puzzle...a chain of growth...fossils....fossils are to represent the different stages in this chain of growth. You have to have fossils to prove every supposed stage in this grand transformation from monkey to man. The fossil of an almost completely monkey-like man up to the the fossil of a fully man-like man (following?) yeah and those fossils are not there. They have not been found. There is a big gap in their chain- the missing link. Evolution you see has never been proven..its not a fact. Its a theory. A supposed truth. There is absolutely no solid proof.

Hi, HannahLeigh! I think it's awesome that you stood up for your faith. That took GUTS, Sistah! I don't want to say anything to discourage you, but here's a thought. Public schools teach evolution because it's the most widely accepted scientific theory (unfortunately, they present it as fact, which it is not). Since teachers don't have any choice other that to teach evolution, then I probably wouldn't argue with them too much at this point, unless you really feel that God wants you to. Just because they tell you it's true doesn't mean you have to believe 'em :). As you get older, grow in Christ, and learn more about biology, you will eventually be able to respectfully question your professors, and it will drive them bonkers, especially if you ask a really good question that they can't answer ;) But, for now, I would suggest asking God for guidance, and try to avoid arguing with the teachers, unless The Big Boss (God) has given you a specific point to make, or a good question to ask. Try to be respectful, It's a good testament to your walk with Christ. Stay strong, Sister, all His best for ya! Love, Nicole

I have heard the same thing happen to someone else at a university.

You can pray for them my friend, don't get angry that way. Jesus got kicked out of many places, but he never retaliated in an evil way.

People who truly follow Jesus end up getting kicked out of a lot of places.

May Jesus bless you. Follow Jesus in love and care, praying for those who persecute you wrongfully.

Tell your parents and have them tell the news. This needs national attention. I'm not kidding either. God bless.

Separation of church and state. Evolution is humanitarianism, secularism, and usually atheism. It should get some attention that they threw you out for it. Expelled" No Intelligence Allowed style. These false science teachers have to stoop pretty low these days kicking kids out of their class for disagreeing with the propaganda.

Keep on fighting the good fight. ;)

Well i mean my teacher told the classs that there is no proof of a heaven hell or god! which does tie in with faith- believing without seeing........... but now they have me questioning my faith! I mean what if thyre really isnt a God nd the end of thw world comes nd we all wasted our lives over something that never even existed? what then? ughhhh......... do you think God would hold it against me if I dropped out of school? : (

Depends on what qualifies as proof. Often when people of an atheistic persuassion say this, they mistakenly make a category error. They want scientifici proof, but science is the study of the natural world. Given that God by definition is non-natural, it'd be like using a ruler to measure electric resistance of a copper wire.

I don't know any Christian who hasn't at one time or another, begun to question the truth of what they believe. I did for about three months,, and then I began to discover Apologetics. That's not to say there aren't specific issues I sometimes question, but the grand scheme I am quite solid on.

I mean what if thyre really isnt a God nd the end of thw world comes nd we all wasted our lives over something that never even existed? what then?
You wouldn't have wasted your time. Without God's existance, everything has no objective meaning, purpose, or value. So in order for something to have been a "waste" there must be an objective standard as to what makes something useful, and wasteful. This provides reason to God's existance.

ughhhh......... do you think God would hold it against me if I dropped out of school? : (
This one little incident isn't worth it. Besides, you'd still have to wait two years, and the event would be in the past.

If anything, take it as a small taste of persecution, and be glad in it.

Thankx i appreciate all of your help : ) im glad i didnt leave cc!! i dont know if i wouldve been able to talk to my parents about this beacause they stay so busy it seems like they dont have any time for me : (

well if they said monkeys then they aren't even teaching the theory of evolution correctly so that should be a red flag that they are insecure in their position of intellectual superiority and normally those teachers are the most difficult to have rational conversation with.

my tactic was to give the bare minimum answers and write a lot in my journal about all the things I found to be illogical and untrue instead of stating it out loud since your teachers sound kind of insecure to begin with.

documentation and references from respectable historians and scientists might help if you do wish to engage in conversation but sometimes its best just to figure out how to make the grade without engaging in alienation of the teachers or compromising your principles.

You should talk to your parents and try and get them to spend more time with you. sometimes parents need reminders and I would hate for my kids to feel like I was too busy to make time for them.

Just for clarification, humans did not evolve from apes. Humans and apes have a common ancestor in which they diverged from.

"But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised." 1 Corinthians 2:14

There's the first problem. You're a genuine born-again Christian and they are not.

BUT, there are different creation models that genuine born-again Christians adhere to depending on their interpretation and understanding of creation and these range from young earth creationism to old earth progressive creationism to theistic evolution.

So even though you have your preferred view, first you should realize there are different creation beliefs and views within Christiandom. Obviously there is only one reality and God created everything that is created (one way or another) but there is real debate within the Church as to that.

Secondly, the only view they are likely to accept without becoming bullies is theistic evolution and that is because they are general evolutionists (e.g. people that believe in neo-Darwinian evolution). Theistic evolution is not my preferred view and I doubt it is yours. So you'll have to find a way to get through the secular classroom environment where only general evolution is accepted as a fact knowing that one of the Christian models are the correct one.

It's not easy. I had to do it and so do you. My approach was to get along as far as I could without denying that God exists and created (even if that meant theistic evolution). I never had a teacher not allow me to have that opinion so graduated each degree program I attempted.

It's a flawed system because their theory is taught as fact and forced down your throat or you are persecuted and you get to pay for the priviledge. Welcome to the real world.

I admire you for questioning and standing up for what you don't feel is right. Good job! Doing the right thing is never easy, which is why so many don't do it! Good job :-)
