Sea salt has a plethora of trace minerals; table salt is depleted.
What you gain is the health benefit of the trace minerals.

Sea salt is produced by evaporating seawater, meaning it retains trace minerals from the ocean like iodine but I don't use it anymore because of the Japanese putting fukushima back into the sea and other chemicals that can't be removed like PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), PBDEs (polybrominated diphenyl ethers), pesticides, and certain industrial chemicals
while table salt is mined from salt deposits and heavily processed to remove most minerals kosher is definitely the way to go with salt. There however are exception such as Himalayan salt, the Danakil Depression salt (salt alley) or Utah's Real salt are all minimally processed and Kosher salt is not as processed and often contain no additives like regular salt.

I think a good option is a good quality iodized sea salt.
You may have to search it out online, but depending where you live you may find it a specialty store.
I have tried sea salt and regular salt and I can't detect any difference in the taste. My doctor told me to limit my intake of the sea salt to the same amount as regular salt. When I look at what's in the water used to make sea salt, I think I'll stick to Morton's Iodized.
Sea salt quality is dependent upon the location of harvest. If it can be known, I would go for a source far from industry. Pollution is always a concern.
Some samples of sea salt has been found to contain micro plastics.
This is why I used to get salt harvested from an inland ancient salt mine when I could afford it. When I recover and become gainfully employed, I'll go back to that source, not that it's all that expensive. It is much better than NaCl table salt because it contains many minerals/ micronutrients.

I like Redmond's salt personally. I've been using it for years.
That's the brand I was referring to.
To me, the flavor is noticably better than the others.
The thing going for it that set's it apart from the so called Himalayan pink salts is that they contain high levels of fluoride. Redmond analysis looks pretty good back when I asked the owner for it.

A buddy in Wisconsin called earlier and said the exact same reason that he uses sea salt!

Trace minerals in sea salt and other salts may help the body more efficiently process the NaCl molecule thus reducing incidences of hypertension.

Nutritional "studies" typically only comment on the amount of sodium in refined table salt vs. that of sea salt. Hint: they're about the same but refined salt tends to have more. Their conclusion is "no difference in health-related measurements (like high blood pressure) between refined table and sea salt". What they fail to acknowledge are the cellular pathways affected by the trace minerals.

How the sea salt diet actually exerts its anti-hypertensive effects is not clear. One obvious point to consider is the content of minerals other than sodium in the sea salt. On a weight basis sea salt that we used contains 85.7% NaCl whereas refined salt contained 99.9% NaCl. In addition to sodium, sea salt also contains calcium (1.5 mg/g), potassium (2.9 mg/g), magnesium (3.9 mg/g), and traces amounts of iron, manganese and zinc. It is known that dietary potassium can influence blood pressure, and that it can play a role in controlling blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Human subjects consuming high levels of potassium, for example, are less prone to hypertension even when the sodium intake is high [22]. In DSS rats, high potassium intake also attenuates increases in blood pressure caused by high sodium intake [23]. Two very recent high-profile studies point out that not only is potassium excretion inversely associated with systolic blood pressure for persons with hypertension compared to normotensive subjects [24], but that higher potassium excretion is associated with a lower risk of death as well as cardiovascular events [25].
For our house, we use unrefined salt with trace minerals. It's not only better for you but, imo, tastes better too.
