Looking through a window from a darkened soul,
my vision blurred by a lingering foe.
This enemy is closing in, pressing into my plain,
a dark cloud hovering, full of cold beating rain.
What is this emptiness that I feel inside,
where can I go, where can I hide?
This shadow has followed me, reaching ever so deep,
into my wounded heart, truly making me weep.
When will it be over, I feel so trapped and confused,
this darkened soul, so lonely and confused.
But this day seems different, I feel a desire for more,
A hope and an awakening, a knocking at the door.
Now I am reaching for something that I cannot see,
it has drawn me, reaching, falling on my knees.
Oh how I am hurting, please God take this pain away,
let me be forgiven, and heal me this day!
Let me see you, and behold all that you are,
I want you to be near, and not to be far.
Please hear me crying, calling out your holy name,
and take away all of this guilt, sorrow, and shame.
"Here I am my child, eager to forgive,
take hold of me now and you shall truly live.
For I am your redeemer, my blood was spilled for you,
open your heart to me, and you shall know this to be true.
My arms are wide open, my eyes gazing upon your face,
I see that it is broken, now I shall give you my grace."
Oh Lord I am yours now, thank you my blessed King,
what great melody my heart doth now sing!
Now I behold a beauty that words cannot explain,
Oh what great love, by your grace I have obtained.
So hold me now Lord Jesus, and change me, making me pure
My life is now shining, my heart is now yours!
