Purgatory is the condition of purification or temporary punishment[1] by which those who die in a state of grace are believed to be made ready for Heaven.

Yes, I agree with Jimmy. The scriptures seem pretty clear...when we die, that's it, the choice for Christ has already been made, or not.

After death, there is only the prospect of judgment—not a further opportunity for obedience (Hebrews 9:27). In the parable of the virgins, Jesus taught that in whatever condition one goes to “sleep,” i.e., dies, in exactly that same state he will meet the bridegroom (Matthew 25:1-13). Moreover, there is a permanent, impassible chasm between the place of punishment and that of reward, and no man can cross it (Luke 16:26). There is no post-mortem plan of salvation. Now is the day of redemption (2 Corinthians 6:2).

In other words purgatory does not exist.

And yet... there's plenty of Scripture supporting it.
 
It is not. There's only heaven and hell for us to dwell during our eternity. I believe that the purgatory that exist is earth itself, for here we are able to choose if we will be on His side or on the other side.

Purgatory isn't a third place to spend eternity. If you are in Purgatory, you will eventually reach Heaven. Remember that Scripture states that nothing unclean shall enter Heaven. When we die unless we are in a perfect state of grace, we need to get the last vestiges of sin removed. That is what Purgatory is. It's sorta like a mudroom for Heaven, the place you wipe the dirt and grime from your Earthly pilgrimage off before entering your Heavenly home.

Jesus_Loves_You do you look at the dates when you reply to things? This thread was posted over two years ago! I'm only asking because you've replied to a few threads in the Christian Teens Forum, one of which was over four years old! I just wanted to let you know that it's important to look at dates when you reply to things, otherwise you might not get a lot of replies, haha ;)
