I think we have had a thread of this nature but please permit me to bring it up again.
Today has been a rainy day in Yaounde. Places are cold cozy and I like it that way. But this brings me nostalgia and make yearn for a home and people to share this my favorite moment of life with. it makes me want to be child again in my parents home or have my own fam.

- What about makes you think of your childhood, or desire family?
- What do you do on rainy days as a single?

Christmas is USUALLY the biggest thing that makes me think of childhood. It might have been ruined for me last year, but I'm not here to complain, and I'm staying positive. That being said, usually just being around my family and talking about old times brings a lot of nostalgia. Talking with people I used to go to school with and things like that. I can't really think of any specific event or scenario that brings back childhood feelings...listening to certain music will do that for me though. A lot of the old Christian bands from the 90's bring back some feelings.

Rainy days as a single, I do the same thing I always do. I sit my fat rump on the couch, eat an unhealthy amount of already unhealthy food, and cause chaos and disorder on social media. You're welcome.

Oh I love a rainy night
Yes I love a rainy night

I swear that's a real song. I didn't just make it up.

Hi, good topic!

I often feel a bit nostalgic. I have some old (family) videos that I like to watch. TV series that I used to watch also make me feel nostalgic. It's a good way to spend a rainy Sunday, by the way.

But how cold is it where you are?

Not that Cold, we don't get measurements because our climate is moderate since we are around the equator. we have never seen snow. The Cold here can be like that of an evening during Spring.

Basically, what I did on rainy days when I was single would be to go to work. It was a bit of a lonely life for sure.

Sometimes I think about how it would be nice to be home again as a child with my siblings and mom and dad with my only concerns to be what I would watch on the Saturday morning cartoons.

It has been said that once you leave the home that you can never go back. Based on my own experiences and observations I believe that there is an element of truth to that saying. Kind of sad really but at the same time exciting because you don't know what the future holds. By the grace of God, hopefully it will be a positive and uplifting future.

Yeah, nostalgia.

The Statement "when I was single" made me smile. happy for you. I agree loneliness is a sure thing some nights

we have never seen snow.
That's too bad, then you really missed out on something.

Oh Christmas, I love Christmas.
Me too, and snowing on Christmas is one of the coziest possible thing I know. :)

I wish I could spend Christmas with Family again.
And why you can't? (If you want to say that and it's not too private.)

For me, it's not necessarily at night, I just want to sleep then. ;) But on Saturday evenings, I often feel lonely...

I may get to see snow one day if our God really wants😔. if not I will content myself with the rainy nights😊.
Christmas is very charged at Church and I live in Yaounde and my Parents and siblings are in Douala I can only travel after Christmas. but then I am also a teacher. it will not be easy.

So you're separated from your family because you're studying in another city to become a teacher?
