Hey everyone:) I'm Mary Frances, and I'm 14. I'm pretty new to this website, but I just really wanted to come here for help and advice because I really can't take it anymore.
I've always been a Christian, it's how I was brought up, I did VBS/sunday school/church camps, all that jazz. But now that I'm a bit older and the real world has suddenly been thrust upon me, I'm getting scared and realizing the world is so much darker and scarier. I've been getting too obsessed with Earthly things and even though I haven't realized it, little things have slowly been influencing me and pulling me away from God. (Nothing major such as drugs, sexuality, none of that- just like, TV shows and technology and celebrities, things like that.) And I mean, I know that some harmless Earthly things are okay if used in moderation and never put before God.
But lately, I feel like I've totally lost my way. I'm not gonna get all sob story here, but I just really need some help and advice on how to make my spiritual life as strong as it once was. I've done some things already to help, like deleting some of my social media (turns out that was a huge roadblock) and going to more church activities and services with my friends. But I still feel so lost and empty inside. I guess I just need reassurance and help on finding my spiritual path again. So please, someone please help me renew my faith, I'm begging you.
Thank you for reading this, and God bless... :) <3

Thank you, thank you so much. You don't know what this prayer means to me. I'm literally sitting here sobbing when I should be sleeping because I have school tomorrow X'D oh well, this is worth it. This one simple prayer did so much for me, and I can't thank you enough. God bless you. I mean it, God bless you so much.

Wow, I'm so glad to hear it! That's amazing. God bless you, too, for real. I'm glad He used me to help someone. <3

Its true. The world is a big scary place. But, you didn't need tv or social media to show you that. If you are familiar with your bible you already know. How about Cain and Abel, mankind as a whole was barely started and we already has jealousy and murder. Among brothers even. Look at Noah and the flood. The world was so evil that God destroyed the people on it, and could only find a few people worth saving. Sodom and Gomorrah, again, so evil, they had to be destroyed. The OT is full of war and violence, sexual immorality. Jump to the NT, a man beat and flogged, forced to drag a cross up a hill and hung on it to die as a public spectacle while people cheered on. I believe all or most of the Apostles faced violent deaths, beheadings, crucifixions, stonings, etc.. A woman at a well who had been sleeping around. The bible is, in some ways, a chronicle of mans evil and sinfulness.
The only difference is, the 'visuals'. It may sound sad to hear of someone being shot and killed. But to witness it with your own eyes, has a totally different impact. And thats all thats happening. You read about all these things in your bible, but it wasn't until you started seeing these things played out that it actually hit you how real it is.
Just keep in mind, the world did not change, just your perception of it. The faith that you had before shouldn't be effected by seeing the world for what it is. If anything, it should reinforce your faith. Because when you see all this darkness and evil it verifies what the bible says.

Greetings to you Mary Frances,

^___^ I could sense your confusion over the world ms.Mary. Day by day you are starting to doubt and to think of something, something you think like as terrible. But I tell you a secret, The world is the most comfortable and also the worst place." So its up to you on where you want to be aware of, if you are too much aware of the evil things of the world, you will worried and die on fear, and if you are too aware of good things of the world, you may smile all day and feel comfortable".

People are saying that God's love is unconditional, "Which is wrong". There's always a condition... and that is, you must to accept His Son Lord Jesus.
why I am saying this? ^__^ Just want to share the thought.

Anyway, if you want to know about the reality and the factual of the world, you can pm me. I can explain to you what's the world is like, why are we confused of things, who is God?, what does He wants on us?, what's your life purpose? and etc. I can fill up your hunger of knowledge and wisdom, however knowing so much things will brought you on little dismay. (Like what happened to me).

Feel free to ask questions on me, and I will deliver it through what your senses could understand. (I make it short of course, because no one likes to read so long for little satisfaction). ^__~ have a great day! (I love you).

Hiya I saw your post about feeling dragged in to the world........I spent 26 years as a non Christian, and having tasted what the world has, I like to help others stay close to God. So if you have any questions or things to share please feel free.

Honestly since having a relationship with God through Jesus, someone could offer me all the money in the world to leave God's will, I'd have to say no. He's the best! God bless

Thank you so much everyone! All of your advice and wisdom means so much to me. In the past few days I've had a really deep heart-to-heart with some of my closest Christian friends about this, and that helped me tremendously as well. God bless all of you and again, thank you so much for the support as I find myself again in my faith. :)

Hi! Red. Reading the Word of God can help you. Try to understand the message. Beside this I think listening to God TV can help you.
God bless

Thank you for reading this, and God bless... :) <3[/quote]

I will be praying for you, but from reading your struggles and your concept of salvation, makes me wonder where your heart is!
Please know God is patient and longsuffering, and wants none to perish, and what I am about to offer you isnt accepted well in the church you are in, but its the truth none the less.
The reason you still struggle with worldliness, and a lack of zeal for God and truth is because you have never repented as commanded in the bible, you may have said the sinners prayer, and accepted Jesus into your heart such as what Billy Graham and millions of others promote, but they are leading many into false conversions!
Apart from repentance and faith all proven by deeds, where you MUST crucify your flesh with Christ to receive mercy, once and for all, you will be struggling along, double minded, and torn between the world and God!(Lukewarm)
Godliness and seperation as commanded by God isnt legalism, but the working of the holy spirit in ones life, but the holy spirit wont make his abode in a still defiled vessel, still loving the world over Him, that is why God says IF you love me you will OBEY me, and put me first!
BUt apart from a crucified life, which Jesus called the narrow road, but the church calls it the wide road since they teach you come into the kingdom still loving the world and IN bondage to sin!
Again, I dont send this to be harsh to you, you are very young, and I pray you would seek truth apart from what the modern church is teaching you, and come to a real saving faith!
I hope this helps!

What is the Evidence of Soul Saving Faith?

How then can you KNOW you are in Christ and not Disqualified from as those described in Matt7? It would behoove you to EXAMINE the facts.
If indeed we have escaped the pollutions that are in the world through Lust. 2Pet2:20 And have been Renewed in the knowledge of Christ. Col3:9 And the Flesh has been 'crucified'! Gal5:24

Ought not your CONDUCT be Transformed!?

Thus you have the Dynamic of Soul Saving Faith: Repentance, Self Denial & Faithful Obedience to Christ. Short of that, you have Nothing.
The First Sure Sign of Genuine Salvation is a Genuine Hatred for Sin. Psa97:10, Prv8:13. God has Put in a New Heart & taken away the old. Ezk36:26 The true believer despises Sin in himself and in others, because it dishonors God. Spiritual Warfare is now taking place inside the soul. Gal5:16-17 Without it, NO Salvation has taken place.
Next the Genuine Convert will have a deep desire for the Word of God. 1Thess2:13, 2Tim3:16-17
Nothing satisfies a Christ Centered Life like the Words of Life. His Word is our Armor against the fiery darts of the wicked one. Eph6:16-17 And our Sword to cast down every argument & high thing that tries to exalt itself against the Knowledge of God. 1Cor10:5
The Genuine Believer will set his mind on the Things above. Phil4:8 And Purify his Soul through obedience to the Truth. 1Pet1:22-23
The professing Christian who has no Desire to Study the Word of God has believed in vain.
Third the man who claims to be Born Again will have a New found LOVE for Jesus Christ. 1John4:19 It is a contradiction in terms to say we are Born of God and NOT Keep His Commandants. Love is obedience!
"By this we know that we know Him, If we KEEP His commandants. He who says, I know Him, and keeps NOT His Commandants is a lair and the truth is not in him. 1John2:3-4
Fourth you should expect to have a new found Love for other True Christians. 1John4:20 Your Spirit will bare witness with others Born of God and testify you all belong in the same family. Rom8:16 You will notice a built in sensibility to the people of God and His Love will overflow in your heart. Gal6:10
"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God & Keep His Commandants."1Jh5:3

As Love & Obedience are inseparable Evidence of the New Birth, so Purity of Heart is imparted to every true believer in Christ. "Since you have Purified your souls in OBEYINGthe truth through the Spirit."1Pet1:22 This Purity is therefore EVIDENT in your conduct. First your 'Conscience' is cleansed from self-will & self seeking. Next the will is purified from all that is evil and last the understanding is enlightened by the Divine Light, thereby cleansing it from error.
Soul Saving Faith is Always Evident by a Humble Heart that exalts Christ as Supreme Lord, Despises Sin and walks in faithful obedience to the Truth. Faith empties a man of self-conceit, self-confidence and self-righteousness. Christ is all in all. Eph1:23 The Greatest Faith is ALWAYS accompanied by the greatest humility.
Saving faith is rooted in the heart, grows & spreads in all branches of obedience, and is filled with the fruits of righteousness. Phil1:11 Otherwise it's NOT Faith.
Another sure sign of Genuine Salvation is the fervent desire to Pray. Rom5:1, Heb4:16
The young convert has instant access to the throne of Grace and uses it to commune with God. A non-praying Christian is a contradiction in terms. If you are a New Creation in Christ, 2Cor5:17, we will Walk with Him in prayer.
Saving Faith is always accompanied by Spiritual growth. The life of a genuine Christian is not static. As an infant does not remain in infancy forever, so a new convert grows in grace quickly. 1Pet:2:2-3, 2Pet3:18
Growth assures us we belong to Him and keeps us from being blown by every wind of doctrine or the tricky of men who seek to pervert the grace of God into license to sin. Eph4:14-15, 2Pet2:19, Jude4 The young convert must beware least he fall away from Christ into the error of the wicked. 2Pet3:17
Since the REAL possibility exists of 'departing' from the faith, 1Tim1:5-6, the true believer in Christ MUST guard himself from temptation and especially 'sexual immorality!' 1Tim6:11,20-21, 1Cor6:18
Paul warned the 'believers' time and again about the danger of trifling with sin. He told them, "Let no one deceive you with empty words! Those who practice such things will not inheritthe Kingdom of God!"Eph5:5-6
What are the 'things' he said would keep you OUT of the Kingdom? Read them:
"Fornication, uncleanness, covetous, idolatry, filthiness, foolish talking coarse jesting, drunkenness, homosexuality, sorcery, hatred, selfish ambition, murder & heresies."
Eph5:3-6, Gal5:20-21
Those Born Again will have an unshakable Love of the truth. Jn8:32,14:17
In sin we loved darkness and hated light, believed a lie and hated TRUTH. The New Birth is a Total Reversal of this process. Those in Christ reject false doctrine and cast-down all arguments & high things that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing EVERY thought into captivity to the Obedience of Christ! 2Cor10:4-5
If you are still resisting the Truth of Scripture you have NOT been Born Again, you are under conviction for sin.
Saving Faith Works by Love. Gal5:6. It is dynamic not passive. Faith is the principle of life by which the True Christian lives unto God, Stays on the Narrow Pathway, on the highway of holiness and has Victory over the World, the flesh and the devil. True Faith is always rooted in Loving Obedience to Christ and bares the Fruit of righteousness. Rom6:22
You DO NOT possess saving Faith if you are indifferent to the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. If you refuse the Yoke of Obedience, you reject Christ as Lord. And He cannot be Savior if He is NOT first made LORD.Matt11:28
Another sure sign of Saving Faith is your 'worldview' will be transformed. You will no longer judge matters based solely on your understanding of right & wrong. Your reasoning will be based on God's Truth as revealed in His Word. 2Cor5:17 You will begin to compare 'Spiritual' things with 'Spiritual' things, because you are 'Taught' by the Spirit of God. 1Cor2:12-15 Your moral view of the world will have a brand new perspective and the 'hidden' things will come to light in your heart. 1Cor4:5
"He who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by on one."1Cor2:15

In your heart will be the Joyous song of Salvation. Without Joy, WHERE is freedom from sin!? Gal5:22 The new convert will Praise God for deliverance from the corrupting influence of sin. 2Pet1:4 His heart will have a deep felt appreciation for being released from bondage. "Where the Spirit of Lord is there is Liberty!" 2Cor3:17

Remember to receive the implanted word of God, and truly accept it as truth, and understand it you must do this first and formost:

Jas 1:21 Therefore putting aside all filthiness and overflowing of evil, receive in meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls.
Jas 1:22 But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

You must do this through your own free will and ability, to yield to the conviction of the holy spirit, unless this happens then the word of God will be just a suggestion to you, make no sense, and you will see verses like these as legalism, and unreachable, but if you take that step towards God in repentance as described above, He will give you all the strength you need to lay aside all that ensnares you!

11 Tim. 3:15-17 And that from a child thou hast known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is PROFITABLE for DOCTRINE, for REPROOF, for CORRECTION, for INSTRUCTION in RIGHTEOUSNESS: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

11 Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved onto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

When you are having a bad day go to the word of God, It will turn a bad day into a good day, try it and God bless you.

praise God for letting me read your thread cause it seems that i am heading to that kind of situation.. i as well do attend vbs, camps and other church activities and i just noticed a few hours ago that i am slowly being contaminated by the earthly things that i am exposed each day.. it is a hard problem and i prayed about it.. i heartily understand you.. i can't advice you very well either but the only thing i know is that God is teaching us a lesson about this and this situation is not a problem but a blessing and a chance to make God smile.. we can make Him smile by conquering this and always recognize His Lordship in our lives.. We have to be very keen in everything we do always ask ourselves in making decision on what glorifies God. i guess, by God's grace, we have to always remember 1 Corinthians 10;31.. we have to bring God the glory in every little things we do.. simple things do matter..

the difference between us is that i badly do have the desire to attend all church activities but i am not given the freedom or chance to do so.. i am under a scholarship with so many rules that i have to abide with them if i don't want to lose it.. after all. this scholarship is given my our Lord.. but sometimes, we have to sacrifice our own happiness.. i know this is just a test and God will bring me through this.. He's teaching me something and i praise Him for making me worthy enough to suffer and cry out just to have the time to go to church.. that's what i am telling you.. God will never give you a trial you can't overcome.. always remember that we have a big God and 1 Corinthians 10:13.. when you are struggling.. kneel down and pray.. and think that God is making you understand something.. it is either He wants you to trust Him more or He trusts you enough to stand firm for the things that glorifies Him.

well done.. i now want to thank you for your thread. it's a blessing to me cause it made me realize my own faults and praise God for that.. thank you for making me a blessing through encouraging you and for being a blessing to me as well.. all things really work together for the good of those who Love Him.. God is great and all-powerful.. God is always in control.. always pray to God to always let you feel the joy of your salvation. may God bless you always and your family.. God bless.. :D be faithful to what is good.. ^^

Hi Mary,

I pray you will get stronger ( and I know you will)
I assist with Sunday school too and is quite enjoyable. Please tell us what happen to bring about such low spirit? It makes it easier for us to respond in case we have experience the same situation and can help you better. Thanks
