Hey guys! My name is Monique. My husband has been encouraging me to record and share some of my music. Check it out and let me know what you think! Also, any constructive feedback would be great as well.

Good message and good music. I enjoyed it Monique.

You're husband is right! Keep making praises for God.

Monique, welcome to CC. We need to encourage one another in the use of the gifts that God gave us.

I checked out your music and the intro video. You have a good voice and a blend of styles that is marketable, if that is where you are heading. I started in recording, booking and publishing some years back when I had formed a Christian Contemporary Group. We were on the road for several years. I was previously in Christian and secular radio and TV. So for a professional critique: I like a lot of what you're doing. Your accompaniment, whether tracks or electronic, needs to be cleaned up just a bit. Your mix should be adjusted. The instrumentation is a bit strong and the voice too weak. The drums/rythms are too strong. The beat sounds like it's intended to be an off rythm beat and that works, but also overpowers the vocal. Accepted styles today are heavy on instruments qand rythm. But your voice is soft/mellow. I would love to hear a remake with those slight adjustments.

If your desire is to launch out in a singing ministry, you have what you need to do it. I love what you said about your Husband encouraging you to record. It's important that the spouse is in sync (no pun intended) and supports using your talent. Keep doing what you're doing. The more recording you do, the better it will get. If you ever decide to really get out in concert ministry and have a repertoire, keep me posted. I may be able to get you a few bookings.

Keep serving Him and God bless your music!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate that you gave me specific tips on how to improve the quality. I know very little about the recording, mixing, etc processes. I just sing. Im not quite sure if I should keep this as a hobby or do more with it. I've been told that it takes hard work to get your music "out there." I don't know how much time it would take away from my family if I get more serious about it. That part makes me nervous. What has been your experience?

It's less time consuming to "get your music out there." You should at least do that. Record, distribute for (radio) airplay and sell. That can be done successfully online and create a good income. And you are still ministering. The tough decision comes when you get known and you begin to get calls for personal appearances. That requires a lot of road trips in order to cover expenses, because every appearance is not "for profit". Many artists choose to go for all of it and the family travels with them, even home schooling the kids. The best advice I can give you is.. take one step at a time, but take those steps. All the other details will work themselves out especially with God's hand on your life. And of course I would be remiss if I did not tell you to pray and seek God's plan for your life. If you decide to start out and God says, "yes", then get in touch with me and I'll help you all I can.

I will email you with a number and my ministry website. I sincerely wish you Gods greatest blessings on you and your family this Christmas!
