There is a big difference between tolerance and longsuffering or patience. God does not tolerate sin of any sort . God is longsuffering NOT TOLERANT. The use of that word is a misconception that many Christians get wrong as well. God gives men " Space to repent " in His longsuffering . Then as Proverbs says ,
New American Standard Bible
Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of men among them are given fully to do evil.
_____________ This is where Christians who fear God and backslide presume upon God and are deceived by the " deceitfulness of sin " . Because the ax did not fall and there was no outright consequences to the misconduct, no chastisement , no correction..presumption takes over and we go on cruise control compromise. Satan is happy and we begin to use words like tolerance to describe an acceptable or politically correct way of approaching the issue. God is not tolerant of sin in any form or fashion .The world is under a curse and judgement is coming. God does not hate sinners. I recall handing out gospel tracs in the homosexual Castro district of San Francisco with other disciples. The 'homosexual will not be judged any different than any one of us. We will all be judged by if we have repented and believed the gospel.

The world is under a curse and judgement is coming.

Yes! And this is the Purpose of Christ . . .

Galatians 3:13 NLT - "But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."

There also is a difference in sinning and living in sin. to sin is human God knows this even the best of us fall short at times but to live in sin is to sin everyday without any repentance.
Were it not for his great grace and mercy I would be on the ship sailing to hell for I am a sinner but do not live in sin. The concept of resting in his love and grace escapes many, some see it and use it as a free ticket to do as they please others see it and think that anyone who lives in this manner sins willfully and freely but then there are those who simply live in his love and mercy they do not allow the thought of sin to bring them down. Yes they stumble and fall at times but are strengthened to keep going and to try to do better because they know of his love and grace and it is instilled in their hearts

A person living in sin does not have his love in their hearts for if they did they would know the secret to not sin is his love, this isn't to say we won't mess up sometimes but the more of his love and spirit you have in your heart the less you find yourself sinning. And sadly thewre are those who try to not sin by their own efforts some even believe they don't sin at all.
I don't like how we complicate things given to us by God it makes everything more difficult to understand.
Here is how I see it though Jesus loved it when little children would come up to him it brought such a smile to his face we need to come to him like this not complicating things just adoring him living in his warmth and love and when we do mess up to not fear judgement or condemnation but to repent and just keep on loving him.

it's really that simple, I mean does anyone miss the days when you first came to him where you just basked in his love and felt his love just wrap itself around your heart? When you would just lay in bed at night just praising him with deep affection and love? have we forgotten what it is like to simply be his and be loved?
Remember your first love my friends remember the wonderfulness and beauty there was in it because soon and I mean very soon judgement is coming and those who have become wise in their own eyes but forgotten their love with him will not escape seeing his fury but those who are like little children whose hearts cry out to him with words that have no sound but sound that is to deep for words will have the greatest joy in finally being able to embrace him with their own arms.

They will finally have the words to express their deep love and affection for him their hearts will sing praises with all his other children shaking the heavens themselves with their symphony. I understand that the rapture is a very debated topic but this was on my hearrt to speak and it brought tears to my eyes just writing it. But you guys know me I only know to speak my heart whether it is recieved well or not, so for those who hear these words bring joy increase in your jot because if you feel it's nearness listen to that voice for those who would not have these words as truth I apologize for my outspokeness
