Is the darkening of the sun and moon referring to the fifth bowl in Revelation?

Joel and Jesus mentioned the sun becoming dark on the day of the LORD, which I think is the same as Jesus' Second Coming.

Joel 2:31 NKJV The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.

Matthew 24:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken."

The fifth bowl in Revelation also mentions darkness. Do you think they are referring to the same event?

Revelation 16:10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain.

There are other verses that also talk about this same event. Some of them may be found in the chart on this web page:

I believe all of the 'darkness' verses aligned with the 'Trumpet' columns are referring to the same event.

I believe that Revelation 16:10 is referring to something else.

I do not believe that Trumpet 5 and Vial 5 are in the same time frame. The verses I believe are associated with each are are listed on the chart.

I believe that the sun, moon, and stars event(s) will occur before the Second Coming like the verses indicate.

Some of the verses that refer to these things are not on the chart on the above linked web page; however, I believe I listed them all in the chart on this web page:

Look for the verses indicated in the 'I' column. ("stars...sun...moon...darkened")

How do you see these scriptures metaphor or actually.

Looks like you think 6th seal and 4th trumpet are the sun darkened in Joel 2:31 and Matthew 24:29. Don't you find a difficulty with "immediately after the tribulation of those days" (Matt. 24:29), when the three woes: 5th, 6th and 7th trumpets remain? Or do you think the 7 trumpets are sounded at around the same time?

I don't think Trumpet 5 and Vial 5 are the same time frame either. Your Second Coming link does not mention Trumpet 5. I think Vial 5 meets the criteria of after the tribulation and before the day of the LORD, but we can disagree on how to interpret it.

I will have to come back to this at a later time - I do not have time at the moment; however, I will say this now to help you understand better what I said earlier - for the Trumpet 5 and Vial 5 associated verses, I was referring to the 'Order of Events' chart/page - for the "sun, moon, and stars" and 'darkened' list of verses, I was referring to the 'Second Coming' chart/page. Some verses are on both charts/pages.

I think it is actual. The darkening seems to be related to clouds (Ezekiel 30:3; 34:12; Joel 2:2; Zephaniah 1:15).

One objection to the actual darkening that I don't have a good answer for is that Ezekiel Chapter 30 is talking about the defeat of Egypt by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. And I don't know of any literal darkening of the sun during that war. So is Ezekiel 30:3 metaphorical or is it talking about the future day of the LORD?

Then again, Amos 8:9 talks about the sun going down at noon, which was actually fulfilled when Jesus hung on the cross and there was darkness over the whole land.
