Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. Daniel 2:41

As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle.

And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.

Could it be the Iron are angels and the clay are humans??

Therefore rejoice, you heavens
and you who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short.” Rev 12

I think the iron mixed with baked clay represent the European Union - because it is a mixture of nations. And as anyone knows European history, they don't always get along well all the time. Some of the members nations are strong like iron, but some are weak like clay.

It means the different races of people in the kingdom will segregate themselves, and define themselves by their heritage, skin colors, and other aspects of their genetics over their citizenship.

The Roman Empire Byzantine is the stronger the iron and the west the weaker was the clay

Daniel is apacalyptic the dream the king has in chapter 1 of the four kingdoms , the vision in chapter 7 of the four kingdoms go together with the ram and goat in chapter 8 it explains in those that Babylon is the first kingdom , thrown down by media Persia the second kingdom , conquered by Greece led by Alexander the Great the third kingdom who has four heads Alexander’s four generals after he was killed ruled the Grecian empire and it eventually became the Roman Empire …..divided between the strong Byzantine and weaker west the iron and clay

My view is that this is talking about succession of kingdoms from the perspective of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon. Whoever conquers the areas of the last empire is the successor. Therefore Rome is not the last one, but the caliphate is. Rome never conquered the areas of the kingdom of Babylon, the kingdom of Babylon extended all the way to the gulf of Persia., and therefore does not fit as someone who tramples on the previous kingdoms.

The first kingdom is Babylon, second is Medo-Persia, third is Greece, fourth is the caliphate. The only empire that conquered these areas. Rome never did.

The brittle and strong is symbolism for the Sunni-Shia split and the internal turmoil. Once you see this the end times make a lot more sense. Which is more likely, an islamic invasion of Jerusalem or Russia or China or the Pope invading Jerusalem?

For anyone interested in this alternative view give this a listen. Joel has free books on the subject on his website for anyone interested. Don't gang up on me for believing something other than the mainstream view please.

1 Corinthians, chapter 3
12If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw,
13 his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work.
14If what he has built survives, he will receive a reward
Iron isn't specifically mentioned here but I'd say it relates back to humans & their works, that kinda thing..

The Scripture from Daniel specifically mentions how iron breaks other things. That other Scripture back there (woe to you earth and sea..) reminded me of some Scripture describing the devil trampling his own stars (angels) something along those lines.. breaking other things down, like iron..

I used to think the bronze kingdom was Great Britain, because it objectively ruled over the whole earth.

Is it relevant that the final kingdom was to destroy Jerusalem and it’s sanctuary and leave it desolate ?

What final kingdom? God's final kingdom? God replaces the old earth and heaven with a new one. So there will be a new Jerusalem.

Revelation 21:1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

It doesn't say anywhere that He will destroy it and leave it desolate?

In Daniel’s vision, King Nebuchadnezzar saw a great statue made of different metals, each representing kingdoms that would rise and fall until God’s eternal kingdom comes. The legs of iron showed a strong kingdom, but the feet and toes were made of iron mixed with clay. Daniel explained that the iron means strength and power, while the clay means weakness and fragility. Because iron and clay do not truly mix, the feet symbolize a kingdom that appears united and strong but is actually divided and unstable, unable to hold together fully. This shows that the final human kingdoms will have elements of force and authority but will ultimately be weak and fragile, and God’s everlasting kingdom—the stone cut without hands—will strike and destroy them (Daniel 2:41–45).

Some today see similarities between this vision and alliances like the European Union, which are made of strong nations but remain divided in opinion and action. While such modern unions may show both power and fragility, the Bible does not name them specifically. Jesus warned that we should not try to pinpoint exact nations or political unions as the fulfillment of prophecy, but instead watch for the ultimate sign: the coming of the Son of Man in glory, when God’s kingdom will be fully established (Matthew 24:30–31). The lesson of iron and clay, therefore, is clear: human strength alone cannot last, and even the mightiest alliances will eventually give way to God’s eternal, unshakable kingdom.

Just by reading this paragraph alone immediately puts me in mind what the division between Democrats and Republicans have done to the USA. It's no different than the North versus the South during the mid 1800s.

Truly the USA is united by their Military but divided and weakened by their own Citizens.
