I'm not sure I understand your last sentence. Do you mean it's a false doctrineThe punctuation of that verse would make a difference as to how this is understood.
Greek: καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς, Ἀμήν λέγω σοι σήμερον, μετ' ἐμοῦ ἔσῃ ἐν τῷ παραδείσῳ
Literal Interlinear: And Jesus said to him, Truly to you I say today, with me you will be in Paradise.
Since Christ would only be in Paradise after His resurrection (three days later), at which time He would take all the OT saints with Him to the New Jerusalem, it would have been incorrect to say that He would be in Paradise on the day that He died. But because this verse was not punctuated properly, we get the wrong impression.
SOUL SLEEP IS FALSE DOCTRINE, SO DON'T BOTHER WITH THAT.
Yes Soul Sleep is indeed a false doctrine. There are no souls sleeping six feet under the soil. Upon death, the body goes into the grave (and may give the appearance of repose or sleep). But the soul and spirit are either in Heaven (for those who are children of God) or Hades (for those who are not). At the same time sleep is used as a metaphor for the death of the saints.I'm not sure I understand your last sentence. Do you mean it's a false doctrine

You are greatly mistaken, and what you teach destroys the Gospel itself (sadly, see previous video).Yes Soul Sleep is indeed a false doctrine. There are no souls sleeping six feet under the soil. Upon death, the body goes into the grave (and may give the appearance of repose or sleep). But the soul and spirit are either in Heaven
That is not what the historic Christian faith taught:Yes Soul Sleep is indeed a false doctrine. There are no souls sleeping six feet under the soil. Upon death, the body goes into the grave (and may give the appearance of repose or sleep). But the soul and spirit are either in Heaven
No, He didn't.When Christ died His body was placed in a tomb but His soul and spirit went to Hades for three days and three nights. He preached unto the spirits in prison at that time.
So, the HOLY SPIRIT was already working in the "Days of Noah" upon the hearts and minds of men, as HE has throughout the scriptures [Gn 1:2; Nm 11:29; Job 26:13; Isa 48:16; Zec 7:12; 1 Cor 2:10; Eph 3:16; 1 Jn 4:13; etc]:When Christ died His body was placed in a tomb but His soul and spirit went to Hades for three days and three nights. He preached unto the spirits in prison at that time.
Who then are these "spirits in prison" [vs 19] that were being "preached" unto? When Christ died His body was placed in a tomb but His soul and spirit went to Hades for three days and three nights. He preached unto the spirits in prison at that time.
