My name is Jennifer, I am 35 years old. I am a recently born again Christian, my surrender to Christ date is 9/10/25. I am a recovering alcoholic and drug addict. My whole life was filled with sins- drinking, drugging, promiscuity, and turning my back to God. I hit rock bottom and lost everything- my apartment, my job, money, relationships, friendships, and family. I am turning over a new leaf and am reborn through Christ Jesus. Forever grateful for his abundant blessings he’s given me. So blessed to be here. 🙏🏻

Hello Jennifer. Glad to have you join us.

We all were sinners and still sin occasionally, by thankfully, by the grace of God, you were reborn through Christ Jesus.

We all have a story to tell, and I have dealt with some issues too so please know that you're not alone in this. Like yourself, I hit rock bottom in 2014, lost everything, my car broke down, lost my two dogs, and my late second wife. I left Maine on a bus with just my clothes in a duffle bag.

By the grace of God, I met and married a wonderful spiritual woman who is also a member of this site. She has helped me tremendously to turn my life around. God will turn your life around too. I to am forever grateful for the abundant blessings of God. Blessed to have you here.

Welcome to CC.

Welcome!

^ Gospel of John is often recommended as a great place to start reading the Bible.
This movie is a word-for-Word portrayal of John's gospel.

Also, please check out the Alpha Course.

There are 10 videos total, answering a lot of questions about faith, Christianity historically and in the modern
world, the estate of man, and God's design for humans. I hope you watch them. They could benefit you greatly
.:)

There is also a thread (here) that was started for recovering alcoholics and addicts. It is a few years
old now and not posted in much any more, but you may appreciate some of the stories that are there.
There are other threads as well with the recovery them that you may find by searching them out.

Promises.png

If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be amazed before we are half way through. We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. We will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace. No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others. That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear. We will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in our fellows. Self-seeking will slip away. Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change. Fear of people and of economic insecurity will leave us. We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us. We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves. Are these extravagant promises? We think not. They are being fulfilled among us — sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. They will always materialize if we work for them. The Promises from the Big Book of AA Chapter 6.

Welcome Jennifer! So wise to fill yourself with Him to ensure success, He was what we are looking for when the adversary tempts us with temporal things.

This is nothing to do with this post but it’s something I can’t stop thinking about. I was reading some stories online last week and a lady was having trouble with drinking and what made her stop was she was dropping her kid off at school, tripped up and flashed her bare bum to everyone. I know that would be enough to make her stop drinking but think about the kid. Could you ever get over that?

Hi Jennifer glad you are joining the fellowship and sometime friendly feuds at CC! (lol) Guess what I've done all things you listed too, but that was our old self, and now we're blessed to be joint-heirs with Jesus now, a new creature in Christ🙌 Have fun browsing the Forums, God bless you and your endeavors🌹🙏

You can do it. I have no friends to help much. My source mostly is Jesus. Trust and faith. Don't just know it live it. Fight the good fight! This is to encourage and strengthen you. Pray, pray, pray. Ask for more of the spirit. Stand fast. Praying for you !
